Bath repair in Percy Main

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Bath repair in Percy Main, done in place

Bath repair is our most common job. A chip by the taps, a crack in the base and a rust spot by the plughole are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people get in touch are a chipped rim or side and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

Landlord and trade work in Percy Main

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Percy Main as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.

Do you need bath repair in Percy Main?

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, with dropped shower heads close behind. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:

  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • A cracked acrylic bath
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Deep scratches in acrylic

What your quote should include

  • How the room is protected while they work
  • Aftercare advice
  • What preparation is included
  • How the colour is matched

Repairing versus replacing in Percy Main

When the bath is otherwise sound, repairing beats replacing. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

What you get with us

  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Free fixed quotes from pictures

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

Your questions about bath repair in Percy Main

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including older coloured suites.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

What does bath repair cost?

Repairs from £95. The exact price depends on the damage, so we quote from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Do you come to Percy Main?

Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Percy Main and the rest of North Tyneside. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

What happens if you find more damage?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. The price only changes if you agree.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It clears as the materials cure.

Do you charge for travel?

Travel is included in the price, and we charge the same wherever you are.

Will the repair last?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

When we’d advise against a repair

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Percy Main. The price depends on:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • What the surface is made of
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

The price reflects the work involved, not your postcode. You will see the full price before you book, with nothing added on the day.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear photos are usually enough. Try to include:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Details of any past repairs

There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

What happens on the day

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, put protection down and get going once we have agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Point us to the nearest place to park
