Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Bath repair in Pinkneys Green, done in place

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are rusty patches near the plughole and a chip where the taps sit.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Pinkneys Green: your questions answered

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Pinkneys Green?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You’ll get a fixed figure before booking.

Is the work guaranteed?

All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Can pets and children be at home?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

Can landlords book you?

We do, regularly. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Landlord and trade work in Pinkneys Green

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Windsor and Maidenhead and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:

  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Send photos for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Where you are, by postcode

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

When a repair is not the answer

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • A steel bath rusted through

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel

Repairing versus replacing in Pinkneys Green

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

What you get with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited

What we do, step by step

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice

Signs you need bath repair in Pinkneys Green

Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • A hole punched through by something heavy
  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Chips caused by builders

What to look for in a quote

  • How soon you can use it again
  • How to look after the finish
  • How the colour is matched
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the photos show

Choosing a repair company

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.
