About our bath repair in Windsor

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. Nothing is unplumbed, the tiles aren’t touched, and the repaired area is colour-matched so it blends in. Typical jobs include scratches you can feel with a fingernail and chips on the rim or sides, on pressed steel enamel, roll-top & freestanding and whirlpool & spa baths.

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we’re doing. Most jobs take a few hours, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Do you need bath repair in Windsor?

Rust generally starts where water sits, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • Chips caused by builders
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
  • A cracked acrylic bath

Questions to ask before booking

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • What happens if the damage is worse than the pictures show
  • What preparation is included
  • How your room will be protected

10 questions to ask before you book

For landlords and businesses

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, pictures and access details.

Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Repair or replace in Windsor?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. Where the entire surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

Windsor: your questions answered

When can I have a bath again?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we’ve done.

Is there any odour?

Expect a mild smell while we are working that clears as it cures.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

Is my repair covered?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Do you cover Windsor?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Windsor. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders in Windsor.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

What affects the price in Windsor

Repairs from £95. There is no charge for travel to Windsor. The price comes down to:

  • What the surface is made of
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before you book.

How to get a fixed quote

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Any details about the material
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

If you’re in Windsor and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.
