Bath repair near Polruan

How we handle bath repair in Polruan

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can usually use the bath the day after. Whether it’s a chipped rim or side and rust spots around the plughole, we can typically put it right.

The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Common questions in Polruan

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we frequently do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Is my repair covered?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Polruan?

Prices start from £95. We give a fixed price from your photos. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your PL23 postcode.

What happens after I send photos?

We come back with a fixed quote, plus dates. There’s no obligation to book.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Often, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.

Do you come to Polruan?

Yes. We work across the UK and come to Polruan. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can you price it without visiting?

Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Repairing versus replacing in Polruan

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. A repair keeps it in place. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Polruan. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair won’t do:

  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Keeping it looking good

Aftercare is simple:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you’re happy with the plan. Most jobs take two to three hours for most chips, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Have a window or extractor fan available

Getting a price

Send us pictures of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Polruan, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

Related advice

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Work for landlords and builders

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which matters when someone is living in the home.

If you manage property in Polruan, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send pictures for each one and we will price them together.

When to call us in Polruan

Rust tends to begin where water collects, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Holes from dropped items
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Snagging damage from a refit

Questions to ask before you book

  • What preparation is included
  • Who will actually do the work
  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • What happens if they find more damage

Our hiring checklist

Can I fix it myself?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
