Bath chip & crack repair in Preston, Brighton and Hove
Bath repair for Preston, without a refit. Get a fixed price from your photos, then book a visit.
- Repairs from £95
- Chips on the rim or sides
- Chips caused by builders

What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:
- The type of damage
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Doing more than one item at once
- How easy the damage is to reach
We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.
Getting a price from pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:
- Where you are, by postcode
- The material, if you know it
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Bath repair in Preston without replacing anything
We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can generally use the bath the following day. Typical jobs include a kit repair that didn’t last and a chipped rim or side, across acrylic, cast iron enamel and roll-top & freestanding.
The work is guaranteed for twelve months. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

How to care for the repair
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Store metal items away from the bath
- A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath.
Small chips are quick to repair. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
Do you need bath repair in Preston?
Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, with dropped shower heads close behind. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.
If you can see any of these, send us a picture:
- Scratches you can feel with a fingernail
- A kit repair that didn’t last
- Damage beneath the taps
- Rusty patches near the plughole
Before you book anyone
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- What prep work is covered
- How the room is protected while they work
- Who will actually do the work

DIY kit or professional repair?
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
How it works
Visits start with a quick look at the job together. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. You can expect it to take a morning or an afternoon, and we will tell you if anything changes.
- We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
- We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.
Before we arrive
- Let the surface dry out before the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Point us to the nearest place to park

Repairing versus replacing in Preston
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
