- Chips and rust in more than one place

How we price bath re-enamelling
Resurfacing from £350. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:
- Whether we combine several jobs
- What kind of damage it is
- The material and finish
- Where the damage is and how we get to it
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.
Quotes from your pictures
You can usually get a fixed quote without us visiting. To help us price it:
- The material, if you know it
- One picture of the entire bath
- Something in shot to show the size
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. You will get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
About our bath re-enamelling in Preston
Re-enamelling is a one-day job for most baths, and you can use the bath the next day. Nothing is disconnected or removed. Typical jobs include a bath in a colour that no longer suits and an original cast iron bath that needs restoring, in basins & shower trays, cast iron baths and pressed steel baths.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard.

What we’re called out for in Preston
Previous coatings can fail too, peeling around the waste or bubbling. Failing coatings are stripped back before we resurface.
The things customers generally mention when they call include:
- A roll-top that is seen better days
- A coloured bath you want in white
- Stains that will not shift
- A coating lifting around the plughole
What to look for in a quote
- How changes to the job are handled
- Whether a trained technician does the job
- The length of the guarantee and what it covers
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
What a repair cannot fix
We would rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so these are the limits:
- An acrylic bath that flexes badly underfoot
- Leaking taps or wastes (a plumber’s job)
- A bath that’s rusted through
If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Victorian roll-tops
- Pressed steel baths
- Acrylic baths
- Basins & shower trays
- Cast iron baths
Repair or replace: which is better?
A replacement often means several trades over several days. Re-enamelling is one technician, generally one day, and the bath is usable the day after. Our bath re-enamelling starts from £350. A repair generally costs much less than people expect, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Photos let us give you the exact figure.

What happens on the day
We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. The floor and nearby surfaces are covered before we open a single tin. The work itself takes most of the day, and we leave the room as we found it.
- First we look the bath over and confirm the finish.
- Taps, tiles and the floor are masked off.
- The bath is degreased, repaired and keyed.
- We apply the primer and then the finish coats.
- The masking comes off, we tidy up and tell you when it can be used.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings

Questions from Preston
Do you work in Preston?
Yes. We cover the whole UK and come to Preston and the rest of Brighton and Hove. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes: twelve months. If there’s a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.
How long does re-enamelling take?
Normally one day, with the bath ready the following day. A badly pitted bath can need a second day.
Does re-enamelling smell?
Yes, while we’re applying the finish. We set up ventilation and the smell fades as it cures.
Do you resurface freestanding baths?
Yes. We can do the inside and outside if you’d like.
Can a failed resurfacing be redone?
Yes. Removing the old finish takes extra time, which we include in the price.

What else we do in Preston
For landlords and businesses
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Preston as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it costs much less than replacing.
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.
DIY repairs versus a professional job
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.

What your bath is made of matters
Acrylic
Acrylic baths can be resurfaced too, with a coating system suited to acrylic. The bath needs to be firm and well supported for the finish to last.
Pressed steel
Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
