How we handle bath repair in Redwick
Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all repaired in place, normally in one visit. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and the jobs we see most are impact holes in acrylic and a chip where the taps sit.
You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there is a problem and we’ll come back.

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Redwick. The price comes down to:
- What kind of damage it is
- How many areas need work
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- How many items we do on one visit
A repair normally costs much less than people expect, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we’ll give you the exact figure.
Getting a price from pictures
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- A wider photo showing the whole bath
- A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- Your postcode, so we can check dates
Email us photos of the damage and one of the entire item, and tell us you’re in Redwick, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
Acrylic
Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.
FAQs for Redwick
Is repairing better than replacing?
Normally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. If replacing would be better, we’ll say so.
What areas do you cover?
All of Monmouthshire, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Usually, yes, if we can reach the underside to reinforce it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a photo.
When can you do it?
Your quote comes with available dates. Tell us if you need it done quickly.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
Do you hold any accreditations?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your photos and we’ll quote them together.
What a repair cannot fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- A steel bath rusted through
- A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
How to care for the repair
Simple care helps the repair last. We recommend:
- Rinse it down after each bath
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. A chip the size of a fingernail can become a much larger patch if it’s left for months, so early repair keeps the cost down.
Common problems we fix in Redwick
Rust tends to begin where water collects, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Water on bare metal causes rust that creeps under the surrounding enamel.
You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:
- A kit repair that didn’t last
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- Rust by the waste and overflow
- Holes from dropped items

Work for landlords and builders
Hospitality businesses need rooms back in use quickly, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
Rented homes see more wear and tear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. Repairing between tenants keeps the property presentable for less.
Why repair rather than replace?
People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Normally it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Our bath repair starts from £95. Instead of hourly rates, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
