How we handle bath repair in Reighton

You do not need a new bath because of a chip. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We work on cast iron enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and chips along the edge of the bath.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Rusty chip next to a bath plughole, before and after repair

Landlord and trade work in Reighton

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Reighton as well as householders. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it generally costs far less than a refit.

Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, putting right damage done during fitting. We’re CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

What happens on the day

We work cleanly and quietly. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes two to three hours for most chips. At the end we talk you through the curing time and the aftercare.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Repair or replace in Reighton?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send pictures and you will get a fixed figure.

FAQs for Reighton

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Send pictures of everything together and we will quote them together.

Do you work in Reighton?

We do. Technicians travel to Reighton from across the region, with no extra charge for travel.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes, we do this frequently. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We’ll explain what it covers when we quote.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

Yes, as long as they stay out of the room we’re working in. We’ll let you know when it’s safe to use again.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

Of course. Check with your landlord; we can send the quote to them too.

What a repair cannot fix

Not everything can be repaired, and we would rather say so up front. Repairs will not solve:

  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic

How to look after the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Signs you need bath repair in Reighton

Rust normally starts where water sits, by the plughole, beneath dripping taps or in an unrepaired chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.

Common reasons people in Reighton contact us include:

  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • Chips along the edge of the bath
  • Chips caused by builders
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting

How to compare quotes

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we look at:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How many areas need work

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • The material, if you know it

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Tell us what happened and where you are, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.
