Bath repair in Rewe, done in place

Bath repair is our most common job. Chips on the rim, rust around the waste and cracks in acrylic are all fixed without removing the bath, normally in one visit. Whether it’s chips on the rim or sides and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, we can typically put it right, whatever the material.

Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Questions from Rewe

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include photos of each item.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Rewe?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You will get a fixed figure before you book.

Do you charge for travel?

We don’t add a call-out fee. Your fixed quote includes everything.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Let us know what was used before.

Repair or replace in Rewe?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why us?

DIY kit or professional repair?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.

What we do, step by step

Your technician turns up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before any work starts. The work itself takes two to three hours for most chips, and we leave the room as we found it.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can normally use the bath the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Open a window if you can

Advice

What your bath is made of matters

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. What matters most is:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • What kind of damage it is
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size

For most jobs, photos are all we need to give you a price. Add a line about what happened and your postcode, and we’ll send back a fixed quote and some dates.

Do you need bath repair in Rewe?

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, with dropped shower heads close behind. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Rust by the waste and overflow

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • How long the guarantee is and what it covers
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

What we cannot put right

We won’t take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
