Repairing versus replacing in Rhosaman

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Rhosaman. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

  • One visit for most repairs
  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Everything repaired in place
  • Work done at your home or business

How we handle bath repair in Rhosaman

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. Typical jobs include impact holes in acrylic and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, in pressed steel enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is generally cheaper.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

Questions from Rhosaman

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.

Are you accredited?

We are accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Does someone need to be in?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

Can tenants book a repair?

Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

What information do you need?

Some photos, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. If there is more, we’ll tell you before starting.

What we can’t put right

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling

If in doubt, send photos and we will say what we think before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel

How the visit works

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you know when to expect us. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

How to prepare

  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day

  • A chipped rim or side
  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath

  • Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
  • Who turns up on the day
  • Aftercare advice

Choosing a repair company

Aftercare tips

Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:

  • Don’t leave razors or cans standing in the bath
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Rhosaman

We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.

Letting agents often send us photos straight from the inventory. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • How much damage there is
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Compared with replacing, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Getting a price from photos

When you take your photos, a few simple things make all the difference:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The material, if you know it
  • Natural light rather than flash
