How we handle bath repair in Rhyd-wyn
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath. Most baths can be used again the following day. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and cast iron enamel, and common reasons people contact us are damage beneath the taps and chips caused by builders.
A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you are not left on your own once we’ve gone.

Rhyd-wyn questions
Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?
Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide. Our prices are the same everywhere.
Do you work in Rhyd-wyn?
Yes. We work across the UK and come to Rhyd-wyn. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
In most cases. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
What about rust by the waste?
Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.
Is repairing better than replacing?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Do I need to be at home?
We need someone to let us in. You don’t need to watch us work.
How invisible is a bath repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference, and we will tell you what to expect.
Landlords, agents and businesses in Rhyd-wyn
Builders use us to fix snagging damage before handover. We can visit several plots in one trip.
We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Send the address, photos and access details and we will handle the rest.
Do you need bath repair in Rhyd-wyn?
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
Keep an eye out for these signs:
- Cracks in an acrylic bath
- Impact holes in acrylic
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- A chip where the taps sit
Questions to ask before you book

- How soon you can use it again

Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath costs more than the bath itself: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Prices start from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
Why book with us
- A year’s guarantee on all work
- One price list for the entire UK
- We will tell you if it’s not worth repairing
- CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
Read our pricing or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.
Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Rhyd-wyn. The price depends on:
- The size and number of damaged areas
- The material and finish
- The type of damage
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
We charge the same wherever you are, with no extra for Rhyd-wyn. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.
Getting a price from pictures
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A photo taken from further back
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the whole bath, we can give you a fixed price without visiting.
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.
What we do, step by step
Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which usually takes a morning or an afternoon. If anything looks different from your photos, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
- Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Preparing for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Mention any earlier repairs or resurfacing
- Let us know which floor the room is on
Getting a price
Getting a price is easy: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote. There is no charge for the quote and no obligation.

How to look after the repair
Nothing complicated is needed:
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Rinse it down after each bath
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust sets in.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
When we’d advise against a repair
We will not take on work that won’t last, so these are the limits:
- Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
