Bath repair in Rodhuish

How the visit works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, protect the area, then carry out the work, which normally takes a few hours. If we find something your pictures didn’t show, we’ll explain it before carrying on.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let us know about parking or access

Advice

Bath repair in Rodhuish without replacing anything

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can usually use the bath the day after. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding, and people most frequently call us about a chip where the taps sit and chips along the edge of the bath.

Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

Landlord and trade work in Rodhuish

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Somerset and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there’s no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. Several plots can be done in one visit.

When a repair isn’t the answer

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic

Repair or replace: which is better?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one generally means a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why book with us

  • Typically one visit, start to finish
  • Colour-matched on site
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Fixed prices from your photos

Common questions in Rodhuish

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send photos of everything you’d like done.

When can I have a bath again?

Most baths can be used the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes, often. We quote for multiple addresses and fit around tenancy changeovers.

Do you cover the whole of Somerset?

Everywhere in the UK, Rodhuish included. Travel is included in the price.

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. The rest of the house is unaffected.

Are there extra charges for Rodhuish?

We don’t add a call-out fee. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Check under the bath panel, or send us a picture.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • The material and finish

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A photo taken from further back
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Details of any past repairs
  • The material, if you know it

Email us pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your TA24 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

Keeping it looking good

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Rinse it down after each bath

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.
