How bath repair works in TA24

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, can be repaired with the bath left exactly where it is. Nothing is unplumbed, the tiles aren’t touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. Our technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and the jobs we see most are damage beneath the taps and deep scratches in acrylic.

Arrival times are agreed in advance. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage for most jobs. The room is left tidy and ready to use once it has cured.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Pricing in TA24

Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Honest limits

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)

What affects the price in TA24

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The material
  • How many areas need work
  • The colour and finish to match

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Getting a price from photos

Before you send pictures, these tips help us give you a firm price:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Details of any past repairs
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the entire bath, add your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Repair or replace?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. Repairing it deals only with the damage in one visit.

Questions to ask before booking

  • What preparation is included
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
  • What aftercare is recommended
  • When it can be used again

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Your questions about bath repair in TA24

Will the repair last?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps it last.

How long does the repair take to cure?

Usually the following day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Do I have to be there?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. After that, you can carry on with your day.

Do you work in TA24?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to TA24 for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.

Are there extra charges for TA24?

No. Our quotes include travel, and we charge the same wherever you are.
