Need bath repair in Rookhope?

Bath repair in Rookhope, done in place

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, mixing the colour on the day. Whether it’s chips along the edge of the bath and rusty patches near the plughole, we can generally put it right, on whirlpool & spa baths, pressed steel enamel and roll-top & freestanding alike.

You’re covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we’ll come back.

Can I fix it myself?

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

What we can’t put right

A repair is not always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

Materials we work on in Rookhope

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Rookhope. The price reflects:

  • The material
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • How hard the colour is to match

Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is normally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

Most quotes are done from pictures alone. To make it quick:

  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • A photo taken from further back
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you will get a fixed figure back.

Should you replace it?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it does not: a proper repair gives it years more use, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Prices start from £95. The price reflects the work involved, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • No need to remove anything
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Fixed prices from your pictures

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

How it works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you are not left guessing. On site, it takes two to three hours for most chips. We leave the room clean.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

How to care for the repair

Most damage we see is avoidable. These habits help:

  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

Use gentle, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Get any new chip seen to quickly, before rust can start.

Avoid standing in a cracked acrylic bath until it’s fixed. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and water can get through to the floor below.

Rookhope questions

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. Repairing avoids the cost and disruption of replacing. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Rookhope?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your DL13 postcode.

In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Yes, we often do. Removing the old work can add time, and that is in the quote.

Do you need bath repair in Rookhope?

Many chips happen while the bathroom is being fitted. Tools, tiles and fittings get dropped into the bath, and the damage is not always spotted until later. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.

Typical reasons for a call-out include:

  • Damage beneath the taps
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting

  • A fixed price, and whether VAT is included
  • How soon you can use it again
  • Who will actually do the work
  • Whether the colour is mixed to match
