Bath repair for Rosyth homes

How we handle bath repair in Rosyth

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the next day. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are scratches you can feel with a fingernail and chips on the rim or sides.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Rosyth questions

Are you accredited?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Do I need to be at home?

Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time that suits you.

What about rust by the waste?

Yes. We remove the rust and loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Is a bath repair permanent?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the pictures. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

How do I get a price for bath repair in Rosyth?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from pictures. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Will it make a mess?

Very little mess: we sheet and mask everything nearby, and we take our waste away with us.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Rosyth. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Any details about the material
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Landlord and trade work in Rosyth

We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Rosyth as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Fife and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

What happens on the day

There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll take it from there. The job generally runs to a morning or an afternoon, including clearing up.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Open a window if you can
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before

Advice

What your bath is made of matters

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel

Repair or replace in Rosyth?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in a single visit. Prices start from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What you get with us

When to call us in Rosyth

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

The most common problems we are called about are:

  • Deep scratches in acrylic
  • Rust spots around the plughole
  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted

Comparing quotes

  • Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • How changes to the job are handled
  • How long it needs to cure
