Bath repair near Rough Hills

How we handle bath repair in Rough Hills

A damaged bath doesn’t have to mean a new bathroom. Our repair technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, roll-top & freestanding and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are holes from dropped items and a kit repair that didn’t last.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Wolverhampton.

Before and after: a damaged acrylic bath corner repaired in place

What a repair can’t fix

A repair is not right for every job, including:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Landlord and trade work in Rough Hills

We are used to working with agents and managing companies. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together. Next, we cover and mask everything nearby and the work begins. Allow a morning or an afternoon, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
  4. Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Before we arrive

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

Why repair rather than replace?

Think about the hidden costs of a new bath: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

Why choose Surface Doctor in Rough Hills

  • One visit for most repairs
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Fixed prices from your photos

Read our full price list or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear

A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.

How to get a fixed quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Any details about the material
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.
