Need bath repair in Rushock?

When a repair isn’t the answer

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel

Bath repair at your home in Rushock

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can usually bathe again the next day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. If you’re dealing with hairline or through cracks in acrylic and impact holes in acrylic, we can help, on roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and acrylic alike.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

What affects the price in Rushock

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • What kind of damage it is
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send pictures for a quote

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • A coin or ruler next to the damage for scale
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Details of any past repairs
  • A photo taken from further back

Upload a photo of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your WR9 postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.

Should you replace it?

Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and disposing of the old one. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why us?

  • A fixed quote before you book
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Colour mixed on the day to match
  • One visit for most repairs

How it works

On the day itself, there is little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we will take it from there. The job generally runs to a few hours, depending on the damage, tidy-up included.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Clear the area around the damage
  • Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

Advice

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, in much the same way.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Your questions about bath repair in Rushock

Is there any odour?

A little, depending on the job. Ventilation keeps it to a minimum, and it soon fades.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Is a bath repair permanent?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Include pictures of each item.

Can you price it without visiting?

Yes, almost always. Clear photos let us give you a fixed price without visiting.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes. We take out the old repair and do it properly. Tell us about it when you send pictures.

How to care for the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Put a towel in the bath if you’re working above it

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.
