Scriven questions
How do I book?
Some pictures, your postcode and how to reach you. On the day, access to the room.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Normally, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.
It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first.
Is my repair covered?
Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.
Is it OK to have pets in the house?
Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.
When can you do it?
That depends on our diary for your area. We’ll offer you dates when we send your quote.
How long does the repair take to cure?
Normally by the following day, depending on the repair.
I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.
Bath repair in Scriven, done in place
A repair fixes just the damaged area and blends it into the rest of the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can generally use the bath the day after. Whether it’s holes from dropped items and chips caused by builders, we can help, on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and cast iron enamel alike.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Different materials, different repairs
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
Acrylic
An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. They don’t rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Honest limits
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.
Surfaces we repair
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Scriven. What changes the price is:
- How many items we do on one visit
- How many areas need work
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The type of damage
Instead of hourly rates, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and doing several items at once reduces it.
How to get a fixed quote
Two or three clear pictures are normally enough. Try to include:
- A photo taken from further back
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- Something in shot to show the size
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

What we are called out for in Scriven
Damage during fitting is very common. Tradespeople drop tools and tiles into the bath, often before anyone notices. Snagging repairs like these are a regular job for us.
You may need us if you’ve spotted any of these:
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Chips along the edge of the bath
- Rusty patches near the plughole

Landlord and trade work in Scriven
Letting agents frequently send us photos straight from the inventory. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.
How the visit works
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a few hours. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, typically the next day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Keep a parking space free if you can
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
Ask for a price
If you are in Scriven and want a price, the easiest route is pictures: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Should you replace it?
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Prices start from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. The full price is agreed before you book, with nothing added on the day.
Why Scriven clients choose us
- One visit for most repairs
- One-year guarantee on every repair
- Straight answers about what a repair can do
- Colour-matched on site

Can I fix it myself?
You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
