About our bath repair in Sheet
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. Whether it’s scuffs and scratches in the surface and hairline or through cracks in acrylic, we can usually put it right, whatever the material.
Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Common questions in Sheet
Can you repair a crack in an acrylic bath?
In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.
Which areas do you work in?
Everywhere in the UK, Sheet included. Travel is included in the price.
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Will I be able to see the repair?
On a bath in good condition, a colour matched repair is very hard to spot. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
Is a bath repair durable?
It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.
Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. If it is not worth repairing, we’ll tell you.
What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?
The price is fixed for what the photos show. If there is more, we will tell you before starting.
Can landlords book you?
Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.
How we price bath repair
Prices start from £95. There’s no charge for travel to Sheet. The price comes down to:
- Access to the area
- Whether we combine several jobs
- The type of damage
- The material and finish
What it costs depends on the type and amount of damage, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.
Send pictures for a quote
We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job the same day in most cases.

How the visit works
There is not much you need to do on the day. Show us the job, point us to the room, and we will get on with it. The job generally runs to two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Before we arrive
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Point us to the nearest place to park
How to get a price
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed price back. Quotes are free and no obligation.

What we’re called out for in Sheet
Nearly all the chips we see start with something being dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
Typical reasons for a call-out include:
- Impact holes in acrylic
- Snagging damage from a refit
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- A failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting
Questions to ask before you book
- Whether they match the colour on site
- What preparation is included
- If travel is included in the price
- Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT

Work for landlords and builders
Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Sheet as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
Can I fix it myself?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.
For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.
Honest limits
In fairness, there are a few things a repair won’t fix:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
- A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
Not sure? Send pictures and we’ll give you a straight answer.
Materials we repair
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Pressed steel enamel
How to care for the repair
Once the work has cured, treat it gently:
- Have new chips seen to early
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
- Store metal items away from the bath
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
Repairs by material
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.
