Bath repair near Sherfield English

DIY kit or professional repair?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

How we handle bath repair in Sherfield English

It pays to repair bath damage while it’s small. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. We regularly repair roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and common reasons people get in touch are a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting and scuffs and scratches in the surface.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

What we cannot put right

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Acrylic

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it relies on good support. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you know when to expect us. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours for most jobs. We leave the room clean.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Preparing for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive

Questions from Sherfield English

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Frequently, if there is access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Can you match an avocado or pink bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed quote covers the visit and the work.

Will the price change on the day?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Can you repair something that is been repaired before?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

Can tenants book a repair?

We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.

Can you fix rust around the plughole?

Yes. We take out the rust and any loose enamel, seal and fill the area, then colour-match the finish.

Which areas do you work in?

Everywhere in the UK, Sherfield English included. Travel is included in the price.

Repair or replace in Sherfield English?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Compared with replacing, a repair is typically a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. We do not charge extra for travel to Sherfield English. The price comes down to:

  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What the surface is made of
  • How many items we do on one visit

We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Sherfield English. The job itself decides the price: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Getting a price from photos

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • A picture taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. There’s no charge for the quote and no obligation.

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple:

  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and give it a rinse after each bath.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.
