Work for landlords and builders

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams in Wigan and across the UK. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Bath repair at your home in Simm's Lane End

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can normally use the bath the next day. Whether it’s damage beneath the taps and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, we can normally put it right, on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and pressed steel enamel alike.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. Just call us if there’s a problem and we will sort it.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

Repairs by material

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the bath itself lasts for generations, which makes it well worth repairing.

How to look after the repair

Once the work has cured, treat it gently:

  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, to keep water out. Take it off before we arrive.

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job. The main factors are:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • The material
  • Whether we combine several jobs

We do not add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send photos for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what to send:

  • One picture of the whole bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Whether it’s been repaired or coated before

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed price. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

What a repair cannot fix

Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber

Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.

Materials we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Should you replace it?

The price depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

What happens on the day

On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage. We clean up when we are done and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Before we arrive

  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
