How we price bath repair

Repairs from £95. We price every job individually. What matters most is:

  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The colour and finish to match
  • The size and number of damaged areas

We don’t add extras on the day. The price we quote from your pictures is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Send pictures for a quote

We price nearly every job from photos. This is what we need:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material
  • One picture of the whole bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.

How it works

It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We agree the arrival time in advance, cover and mask the work area, and get on with the job, which normally takes two to three hours for most chips. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We build up the finish and polish it into the surrounding enamel.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the following day.

How to prepare

  • Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible

How to get a price

Should I try a DIY kit first?

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, and the work is guaranteed.

For landlords and businesses

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, saving last-minute replacements. We can visit several plots in one trip to keep costs down.

If you manage property in Pewfall, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Send photos for each one and we’ll price them together.

Pewfall: your questions answered

How much does bath repair cost in Pewfall?

Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up of the damage and a wider photo with your WA11 postcode.

Will the repair last?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

Can you repair a failed DIY repair?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Mention it when you send pictures.

Will it make a mess?

No. The work area is masked and covered, and we take our waste away with us.

When can I have a bath again?

Generally within a day, depending on the repair.

How quickly can you book me in?

We will give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Usually, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a picture.

Do you cover Pewfall?

Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Pewfall and the rest of St Helens. Send us pictures for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

When we’d advise against a repair

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix

If in doubt, send pictures and we will say what we think before booking.

Materials we work on in Pewfall

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. A repair is one job, done in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Our prices are the same across the UK, so there’s no premium for Pewfall. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Why us?

How to care for the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long

In the first few days, avoid putting weight or bottles on the repair. After that, normal gentle cleaning is fine without abrasive products.

If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Every use opens the crack a little more, and it can start to leak underneath.
