Bath repair in Sisland

Should I try a DIY kit first?

You can buy a DIY kit for most repairs, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler frequently lifts.

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it does not stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.

Bath repair in Sisland, done in place

You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site so the repair is hard to spot. Common call-outs are for damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and rusty patches near the plughole, on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and roll-top & freestanding.

All our work is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Repair or replace in Sisland?

Many people think a damaged bath means a new one. In most cases it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, and costs far less than the disruption of a replacement. Our bath repair starts from £95. We do not add extras on the day. What we quote from your photos is what you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

What you get with us

  • One price list for the whole UK
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • Colour-matched on site
  • Typically one visit, start to finish

See our prices page and resurfacing vs replacement cost guide.

How to look after the repair

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Give the bath a quick rinse after use

Treat the repaired area like the rest of the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Keep scouring pads and gritty cleaners away from it.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Sisland

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access.

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover. Several plots can be done in one visit to keep costs down.

How the visit works

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so you know exactly what we’re doing. After that, protection goes down around the work area and we start. It normally takes two to three hours for most chips, and we’ll keep you posted as we go.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. There is no area surcharge for Sisland. What changes the price is:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • How many items we do on one visit
  • How much damage there is
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Send photos and we will give you the exact figure.

How to get a fixed price

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A wider photo showing the entire bath
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the whole item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Your questions about bath repair in Sisland

When can I have a bath again?

Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.

How quickly can you book me in?

We will give you dates with your quote. Tell us if you need it done quickly.

Do the materials smell?

A little, depending on the job. Open windows and an extractor fan help.

Can landlords book you?

Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses across Norfolk.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Normally. Send us a picture of the hole and one from under the bath if you can.

Will I be able to see the repair?

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

Keep pets and children away from the work area on the day.

When a repair isn’t the answer

We’d rather lose a job than do one that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Different materials, different repairs

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
