Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is frequently needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

What you get with us

  • Repair technicians who travel to you, UK-wide
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface
  • Nothing taken out or refitted

Bath repair in Spring without replacing anything

Whether your bath is steel, cast iron or acrylic, we can repair it. The method changes with the material: metal baths need any rust dealt with first, and acrylic cracks need support from behind. We regularly repair cast iron enamel, acrylic and pressed steel enamel, and common reasons people contact us are chips along the edge of the bath and cracks in an acrylic bath.

We guarantee the work for a year. If something isn’t right in that time, we come back and put it right.

Keeping it looking good

Good habits make a big difference to how long a repair lasts:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

What we can’t put right

Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly.

Materials we work on in Spring

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel

The process

Visits start with a quick look at the job together, so there are no surprises. After that, protection goes down around the work area and the work begins. You can expect it to take a few hours, depending on the damage, and we will tell you if anything changes.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep a parking space free if you can
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access

How to get a price

There’s no need for us to visit first. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Can I fix it myself?

A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Spring

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which matters when someone is living in the home.

Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

Spring questions

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

Most of the time. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so we need access under the bath.

Will the repair show?

We aim for a repair you cannot easily find. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath, and we will tell you what to expect.

What happens next?

We come back with a fixed quote, generally with dates to choose from. There’s no obligation to book.

Do you work in Spring?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and come to Spring and the rest of Calderdale. Send photos and we will quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you will get one combined price.

Will there be a smell?

There can be some smell while we work, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. We don’t charge extra for travel to Spring. The price comes down to:

  • The material
  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • The colour and finish to match
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first

Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Quotes from your pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • The material, if you know it
  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can price the job without visiting.
