Bath repair at your home in Stoke Ash
Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. Exposed metal on enamelled baths soon rusts, and on acrylic, a crack keeps spreading while the bath flexes. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Whether it’s chips caused by builders and cracks in an acrylic bath, we can help, on roll-top & freestanding, pressed steel enamel and whirlpool & spa baths alike.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Your questions about bath repair in Stoke Ash
Can you redo an old repair?
Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send photos.
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.
What happens next?
We review the pictures and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.
Can I add another job to the visit?
Yes. Doing several items on one visit normally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.
Will there be a smell?
Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s what we repair.
How it works
We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your photos first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a few hours, and the room is left clean and tidy.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, usually the day after.
Preparing for the visit
- Mention if the room is upstairs or in a flat
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Point us to the nearest place to park

What affects the price in Stoke Ash
Prices start from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Stoke Ash. What changes the price is:
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- Unusual colours or finishes
- How much damage there is
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
Quotes from your photos
Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Something in shot to show the size
- Any earlier repairs or coatings
Getting a quote takes a couple of minutes: take one close-up and one wider shot of the bath, include your postcode and send them over. What comes back is a fixed price, not a guess.
Looking after it afterwards
Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Get a dripping tap fixed promptly
- Check that an acrylic bath does not move when you stand in it
- Store metal items away from the bath
Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, because they can mark the enamel. And fix dripping taps promptly.
Don’t leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.

Work for landlords and builders
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Stoke Ash as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it normally costs far less than a refit.
Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
Should you replace it?
Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. A repair keeps it in place. Prices start from £95. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before booking.

When we’d advise against a repair
Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.
