Bath repair in Tal-y-bont, done in place
We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which costs far less than replacing a fitted bath. You can typically use the bath the day after. Our technicians work on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and common reasons people get in touch are chips along the edge of the bath and impact holes in acrylic.
You’re covered after we leave: our one-year guarantee applies to every job, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt is not a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send pictures, as it can add time.
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is normally cheaper.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Composite and resin
Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that’s the part we put right.
What we cannot put right
To be straight with you, there are a few things a repair will not fix:
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
- Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Materials we repair
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Pressed steel enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Cast iron enamel
How it works
On the day, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take two to three hours for most chips. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
- Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
- The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.
Getting ready for the visit
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Let us know about parking or access
- Make sure the area is dry

Tal-y-bont: your questions answered
Can you fix rust around the plughole?
Yes, it’s one of the most common repairs we do. We take it back to sound metal, seal it, fill it and match the colour.
Are you a vetted contractor?
Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.
What information do you need?
Photos of the damage, a picture of the entire bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?
Most of the time. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so access behind the panel is important.
Is a repair better than a new one?
In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Can you match an avocado or pink bath?
Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.
Can you repair several things at once?
Yes, and it’s frequently cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and we’ll quote them together.
What happens once I’ve sent photos?
We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote.
What bath repair costs
Prices start from £95. We give every job a fixed price from pictures. This is what makes a difference:
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- Access to the area
- Whether we combine several jobs
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
Set against the cost of replacement, repairing generally costs far less, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.
Send pictures for a quote
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what we need:
- Details of any past repairs
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
- A wider photo showing the entire bath
- Any details about the material
If you’re in Tal-y-bont and want a price, photos are the quickest way: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
Should you replace it?
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. If the whole surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.
