Bath repair in The Hague

Bath repair in The Hague, done in place

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and the bath is back in use the day after. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We work on pressed steel enamel, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and the jobs we see most are snagging damage from a refit and hairline or through cracks in acrylic.

A one-year guarantee comes with the work, just as it does everywhere we cover.

Repair or replace: which is better?

Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and replacing like for like isn’t cheap. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Prices start from £95. Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for The Hague. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why us?

  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

Aftercare tips

It’s all simple stuff:

  • Check that an acrylic bath doesn’t move when you stand in it
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath without abrasive products.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Water gets to the metal and rust starts, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

DIY kit or professional repair?

We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

How the visit works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you’re happy with the plan. It typically takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Keep a parking space free if you can

Advice

Landlords, agents and businesses in The Hague

We carry out planned and one-off repairs for housing associations and facilities teams. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out photos. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Repairs by material

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. They do not rust, but they can crack, scratch or be holed, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are thick and very strong, with a fused enamel surface. A chip down to the iron can rust, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, so it’s always worth repairing.

FAQs for The Hague

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

Are there extra charges for The Hague?

There is no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.

Can you quote from pictures?

Generally, yes. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed price.

Can you redo an old repair?

Regularly. We strip it out, deal with any rust and repair it again.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes, coloured baths are no problem. The colour is tinted by hand on the day.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We check the damage, the material and your postcode, then reply with a quote with dates.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

What happens if you find more damage?

Your quote covers the damage in the photos. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

When a repair isn’t the answer

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet

Send us photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What affects the price in The Hague

Prices start from £95. Prices are worked out job by job, from your photos. The main factors are:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • The type of damage
  • How many areas need work
  • How hard the colour is to match

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Getting a price from photos

We price nearly every job from pictures. This is what we need:

  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Natural light rather than flash
  • Where you are, by postcode

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through, and you’ll get a fixed figure back.
