Bath chip & crack repair in Towngate, Lancashire
Problem with your bath in Towngate? We put it right where it is, mix the colour on the day and guarantee the work for a year.
- Repairs from £95
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- An old repair that has yellowed or come loose

Why repair rather than replace?
Replacing a fitted bath normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and getting rid of the old bath. A repair fixes just the damaged area in one visit. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Bath repair in Towngate without replacing anything
We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Typical jobs include a kit repair that didn’t last and rusty patches near the plughole, on cast iron enamel, acrylic and pressed steel enamel.
Every job is backed for twelve months in Towngate and everywhere else. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Landlord and trade work in Towngate
Hospitality businesses can’t afford rooms out of action for long, so most of our work is done in a single visit. We can work around your bookings.
For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.
Looking after it afterwards
Nothing complicated is needed, just a few sensible habits:
- Store metal items away from the bath
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
- Avoid scourers, wire wool and gritty cream cleaners
Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.
Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water can’t get in. Take it off before we arrive.

What we do, step by step
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take two to three hours for most chips. We clean up when we’re done and let you know when you can use it again.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.
How to prepare
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Have a window or extractor fan available
- Let us know about parking or access
Ask for a price
Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and you’re under no obligation.

Honest limits
We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:
- Acrylic cracks with no access behind them
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
A DIY attempt isn’t a disaster. We remove the old filler and start again, so it will not stop us repairing it. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send photos.
We understand the appeal of fixing it yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and the old filler has to come out before a proper repair.
Common problems we fix in Towngate
Most bath damage comes from something dropped: bottles, shower heads, tiles and tools. On enamelled baths, a chip that reaches the metal will start to rust.
These are the problems we are asked about most:
- Rust spots around the plughole
- Impact holes in acrylic
- Damage beneath the taps
- A cracked acrylic bath
Questions to ask before booking
- When it can be used again
- Is the price fixed, and does it include VAT?
- Whether the colour is mixed to match
- Whether a trained technician does the job
FAQs for Towngate
Can you quote from pictures?
Nearly always. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.
Is a bath repair durable?
Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It carries our one-year guarantee.
What happens after I send photos?
You will get a fixed quote back, generally with dates to choose from. There is no obligation to book.
Is my repair covered?
All our work carries our one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.
Do you charge for travel?
There’s no separate call-out charge. The fixed price covers the visit and the work.
What areas do you cover?
All of Lancashire, and the rest of the UK. There is no extra charge for travel.
Will I be able to see the repair?
On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
Yes, though it’s best to check with your landlord first. Many landlords are happy for a repair to be arranged before the end of a tenancy.
Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.
Cast iron
Cast iron is heavy and rigid, with a fused enamel surface. Chips can rust if left, but the bath itself lasts for generations, so it’s always worth repairing.
