Bath repair near Trevor

Trevor questions

Will I be able to see the repair?

The goal is a repair that blends in. How well it disappears depends on the condition of the rest of the bath.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

What if the damage is worse than the pictures show?

If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is a bath repair permanent?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Usually. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes: twelve months. If there is a problem with the work in that time, we come back and put it right.

When can you do it?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we will reply with the earliest dates.

What areas do you cover?

Everywhere in the UK, Trevor included. There is no extra charge for travel.

About our bath repair in Trevor

Most bath damage, from chips and cracks to rust spots and holes, is repaired in place. There is no plumbing to disconnect, the tiles are not touched, and the finish is matched to the rest of the bath. If you’re dealing with a chipped rim or side and rust by the waste and overflow, we can help, whatever the material.

You are covered for a year from the day of the repair. If anything is not right, ring us and we will come back.

How the visit works

Here’s how a visit usually runs: we arrive on time, sheet and mask the area around the job, do the job and clear up. Plan for a few hours. Before we go, we will explain when it can be used and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the day after.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
  • Open a window if you can

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. You won’t pay by the hour. The price depends on:

  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, especially compared with replacing and refitting. Send pictures and we’ll give you the exact figure.

Send photos for a quote

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus
  • Any details about the material

Getting a price is easy: take a close-up of the damage and a photo from further back, send them over with your postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote. Quotes are free and you are under no obligation.

What we can’t put right

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Acrylic cracks with no access behind them

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

Materials we repair

  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Why Trevor clients choose us

Signs you need bath repair in Trevor

Heavy toiletries are the biggest single cause of chips, closely followed by shower heads. Fittings cause damage too: water sits around them, and any chip there soon rusts.

The things customers typically mention when they call are:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath
  • A chip where the taps sit
  • Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted

What your quote should include

  • The length of the guarantee and what it covers
  • How your room will be protected
  • Whether the price is fixed and includes VAT
  • How long it needs to cure

Choosing a repair company

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so repair chips early.

Cast iron

A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is what we repair.

Can I fix it myself?

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, it’s worth having it done properly.

Looking after it afterwards

Nothing complicated is needed:

  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive

Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.
