Bath repair across Denbighshire: what to expect

We repair enamelled steel, cast iron and acrylic baths. Each material is repaired a little differently: rust is treated on metal baths, while cracks in acrylic are reinforced from underneath. Typical jobs include cracks in an acrylic bath and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted, in pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.

A typical visit goes like this: we arrive on time, protect everything around the work area, do the job and tidy away. Plan for a morning or an afternoon. Before we go, we’ll explain how long to leave it and what to avoid for the first few days.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. The repair is polished to the same gloss as the bath and left to cure.

What it costs in Denbighshire

Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

What bath repair costs

Repairs from £95. Every quote is fixed and free. What we take into account:

  • How many items we do on one visit
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • How many areas need work
  • What kind of damage it is

The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. We give a fixed price from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Quotes from your photos

Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates

We price from photos so you don’t have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through, and we will come back with a fixed figure.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Acrylic

Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Should you replace it?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim generally crack when it comes out, a new panel is often needed, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. Repairing the damage avoids all of that.

What your quote should include

  • What preparation is included
  • What happens if they find more damage
  • If travel is included in the price
  • How soon you can use it again

Landlord and trade work in Denbighshire

For anyone letting property in or around Denbighshire, we’ll quote for several properties at once. Just send photos for each address and we will come back with a combined price.

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs in Denbighshire and across the UK. Repairing in place avoids the disruption of a replacement, which is easier on the people living there.

Common problems we fix in Denbighshire

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: the bath isn’t properly supported, so it flexes under weight.

People typically call us when they notice one of these:

  • Snagging damage from a refit
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Impact holes in acrylic
  • Rust spots around the plughole

Common questions in Denbighshire

How soon can you come?

It depends on the time of year and where you are. We will offer you dates when we send your quote.

Which areas do you work in?

The whole UK, including all of Denbighshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.

Is repairing better than replacing?

In most cases, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. If it isn’t worth repairing, we will tell you.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. The full list is on our accreditations page.

Is a bath repair durable?

Yes, if it’s prepared properly and the bath is sound. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

How do I book?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. The colour is mixed on site to suit your bath, including pastel and older colours.
