Bath repair for Trosnant homes

Questions from Trosnant

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Is it OK to have pets in the house?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, mainly so nothing gets touched before it has cured.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, if the item is otherwise sound. A repair avoids removal and making good. If replacing would be better, we will say so.

Is there any odour?

There can be some smell while we work. It fades as everything cures.

How soon can you come?

We’ll give you dates with your quote. If it’s urgent, say so and we will do what we can.

I tried a repair kit. Can you fix it?

Yes. We remove the old filler and start again. Tell us about it when you send photos.

I rent my home. Can I book you?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Are you accredited?

We’re accredited with CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile.

About our bath repair in Trosnant

Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a repair that’s smooth, sound and hard to spot. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Common call-outs are for a chipped rim or side and a failed DIY repair that’s discoloured or lifting, on pressed steel enamel, cast iron enamel and acrylic.

The work is covered for a year after we finish. If anything is not right, ring us and we will sort it.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:

  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • Where the damage is and how we get to it
  • The colour and finish to match

Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Getting a price from pictures

Two or three clear photos are typically enough. It helps if you send:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • Any earlier repairs or coatings

For a price in Trosnant, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.

Aftercare tips

Most damage we see is avoidable. A few tips:

  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Store metal items away from the bath

Don’t leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, to keep water out. Remove it before the repair.

Repairing versus replacing in Trosnant

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: taking out the old one, plumbing, tiling, a panel and redecorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. We charge the same wherever you are, so there’s no premium for Trosnant. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

Why book with us

  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • No need to remove anything
  • We leave the room as we found it

Landlords, agents and businesses in Trosnant

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send photos, the address and how to get access and we will handle the rest.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.

Honest limits

Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Pressed steel enamel

The process

You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, put protection down and start once you are happy with the plan. It usually takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we are there.

  1. We start by looking at the damage and confirming the plan with you.
  2. Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Keep pets and children out of the room while we work
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Point us to the nearest place to park

How to get a price

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will come back to you with a fixed figure.

Related advice

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid. Chips and scratches are filled and matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

DIY kit or professional repair?

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. The trouble is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.

For a hairline mark somewhere you will never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.
