Bath repair in Trow Green

Bath repair in Trow Green without replacing anything

A damaged bath does not have to mean a new bathroom. We fill the damage, shape it to the curve of the bath and refinish it, mixing the colour on the day so the repair is hard to spot. Our technicians work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and whirlpool & spa baths, and people most often call us about scratches you can feel with a fingernail and snagging damage from a refit.

Whatever the size of the job, it’s backed by a one-year guarantee.

Trow Green questions

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the whole bath and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes. Our accreditations include CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no separate call-out charge. Your fixed quote includes everything.

How long before I can use the bath?

Generally the next day. We confirm the time before we leave.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we will plan for it.

Do you do work for letting agents?

Yes. We work for landlords, agents, builders and businesses as well as householders across Gloucestershire.

What happens after I send photos?

You will get a fixed quote back. You are under no obligation.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

How to look after the repair

So the finish stays in good condition for years:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: warm water, washing-up liquid and a soft cloth. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

A small chip is a quick job. Leave them and they collect dirt, stain and, on metal baths, rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.

When we would advise against a repair

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • A whole bath that is dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

What we work on

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

Why repair rather than replace?

People often assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. Generally it does not: a repair keeps the bath in service for years, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why book with us

  • We’ll tell you if it’s not worth repairing
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited
  • Most jobs done in one visit
  • Colours mixed by hand to suit your surface

Take a look at our full price list or guide to resurfacing and replacement costs.

Repairs by material

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so the metal is treated and sealed before the repair.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

For anyone letting property in or around Trow Green, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Just send pictures for each address and we will price them together.

The process

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a morning or an afternoon. The room is left tidy and you’ll know when it can be used.

  1. First, we check the damage against your pictures and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. The damage is filled in layers and shaped to the curve of the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Clear the area around the damage

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is usually cheaper.
