Bath repair in Tuckton, done in place
Whatever has happened to the bath, we aim for the same result: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Common call-outs are for damage done while the bathroom was being fitted and chips on the rim or sides, on roll-top & freestanding, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.
Every repair is covered by a one-year guarantee.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.
Cast iron
Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

Keeping it looking good
To keep it looking its best:
- Keep metal cans and razors off the surface
- Cover the bath during DIY or decorating
- Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
- Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
There is nothing special to do after a repair. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.
Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so it’s worth getting them done early.
Honest limits
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. Repairs will not solve:
- A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
- A whole bath that’s dull or worn, where a full re-enamel is the better fix
- Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.
What we work on
- Acrylic
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths

What happens on the day
You do not need to empty the room beforehand. We bring everything we need with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It generally takes two to three hours for most chips, and you can get on with other things while we are there.
- We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
- The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
- We tint the finish on the day to suit your bath’s shade of white or colour.
- We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
- Once it has cured, typically by the following day, the bath is ready to use.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Clear the area around the damage
- Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
How to get a price

Prices and what affects them
Prices start from £95. Quotes are free and the price is fixed. What we take into account:
- How many items we do on one visit
- Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
- The colour and finish to match
- How many areas need work
Set against the cost of replacement, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
How to get a fixed price
Photographing the damage takes a minute, and it saves a visit. Try to send:
- The postcode, so we can plan the visit
- Any details about the material
- A photo taken from further back
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
Pricing is simple: snap the damage close up and then the entire item, send them to us with your postcode, and you’ll get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.
Tuckton questions
Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?
Usually. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for householders, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses.
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Of course. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.
Do I have to be there?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
What if the damage is worse than the photos show?
If we find something the photos didn’t show, we explain it first. You decide whether to go ahead.
Do you come to Tuckton?
Yes. We work across the UK and travel to Tuckton. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?
Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.
How long before I can use the bath?
Normally by the following day, though it depends on what we have done.
Repair or replace: which is better?
A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: tiles along the rim usually crack when it comes out, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. A repair skips all of it. Prices start from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. What we quote from your pictures is what you pay, and if the damage turns out to be different, we discuss it before starting.

DIY repairs versus a professional job
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can tidy up a tiny mark. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair won’t last.
If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.
