How we handle bath repair in Tutt Hill

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the next day. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, cast iron enamel and acrylic, and people most frequently call us about rust by the waste and overflow and damage done while the bathroom was being fitted.

We stand behind the work with a one-year guarantee, so you’re covered after the visit.

Before and after: a chipped, rust-stained bath around the plughole

What we can’t put right

We’ll always be straight with you, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Metal that has corroded all the way through
  • A bath that flexes because its feet or cradle have failed (that needs fixing first)
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before you book.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

Repairs by material

Composite and resin

Stone resin and composite baths are heavy and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, in much the same way.

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.

How the visit works

When we visit, the technician arrives at the agreed time, protects the room with dust sheets and masking and gets started. Expect it to take a few hours, depending on the damage. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Let us know which floor the room is on

Getting a price

You do not need a survey visit. Nearly every job can be priced from pictures: send a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You will know the full cost before you book. We take into account:

  • The material
  • How easy the damage is to reach
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • What kind of damage it is

We charge the same wherever you are, so there is no premium for Tutt Hill. The job itself decides the price: the material, the amount of damage and how many items.

How to get a fixed price

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage. Please include:

  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Any details about the material

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We will tell you honestly if a repair is the right fix.

Repair or replace: which is better?

A new bath costs more than the bath itself: removal and disposal, plumbing, a new panel, tiling and decorating. With a repair, it’s one visit and one price. Our bath repair starts from £95. Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why us?

  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK
  • Every repair guaranteed for a year
  • One visit for most repairs
  • Everything repaired in place

Aftercare tips

Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. A few tips:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Ensure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

There’s nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Skip bleach and gritty creams and rinse after use.

Small chips are quick to repair. Left alone, they stain and can rust, so early repair saves time and money.
