Bath repair near Canterbury

Bath repair in Canterbury without replacing anything

A typical bath repair is a few hours’ work, and you can generally bathe again the next day. You won’t need a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. Typical jobs include chips caused by builders and a cracked acrylic bath, on cast iron enamel, roll-top & freestanding and pressed steel enamel.

A one-year guarantee comes as standard, so you’re covered after the visit.

Canterbury and the surrounding area

Canterbury is in Kent. From the centre of Canterbury to the outlying streets, the service is the same: fixed prices, tidy work and a one-year guarantee. Canterbury is one of 922 towns and villages in Kent we cover. Our jobs stretch from Canterbury to London (53 miles away).

All of CT1, CT2, CT4 and CT3 is covered. That includes homes on Long Market, High Street and High Street St Gregorys and the roads around them. You’ll find Canterbury on the A2 and A28, so it’s easy for us to reach. Other places close to Canterbury include Wincheap (1 mile south-west), Harbledown (1 mile west), Hales Place (1 mile north), Thanington (1 mile south-west) and Stuppington (1 mile south). Within a short drive, we also cover Ashford (13 miles south-west), Margate (15 miles north-east), Dover (14 miles south-east), Folkestone (14 miles south), Ramsgate (15 miles east) and Whitstable (6 miles north-west). Being one of Kent’s larger places, Canterbury is somewhere we visit often.

When we’d advise against a repair

Some jobs aren’t right for a repair, including:

  • Wear across the entire surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • Cracks in acrylic we can’t reach from underneath
  • A steel bath rusted through

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before booking.

Materials we repair

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Acrylic

Common problems we fix in Canterbury

Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Most people contact us when they notice something like this:

  • Chips under the taps
  • Chips on the rim or sides
  • Holes from dropped items
  • A kit repair that didn’t last

Questions to ask before booking

  • How soon you can use it again
  • Who will actually do the work
  • How the room is protected while they work
  • How to care for the finish

Our hiring checklist

How it works

On the day itself, there’s little for you to do. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. We fill the damage and sand it flush with the surrounding surface.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. Once it has cured, generally by the day after, the bath is ready to use.

Before we arrive

  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Mention any parking restrictions or tricky access

Advice

Questions from Canterbury

Are you a vetted contractor?

Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.

Will the repair last?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It’s covered by our one-year guarantee.

What does bath repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Every job gets a fixed price from your pictures. Send a close-up and a photo of the entire item and your postcode.

Do you cover the entire of Kent?

All of Kent, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.

Do you come to Canterbury?

Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Canterbury. Send us photos for a fixed quote, or call 0345 017 0787.

Can tenants book a repair?

Yes. Ask your landlord first, and we can send them the quote if that helps.

Is it safe with children and pets around?

On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children, so the repair is not disturbed while it cures.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

You get a fixed quote and available dates. If we need another angle, we will ask.

DIY repairs versus a professional job

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it does not work out, we can still repair it properly.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For anything you look at every day, anything that has rusted, cracked or holed, or anything on a coloured surface, a professional repair is worth it.

Repair or replace in Canterbury?

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, lifting out the old bath, making good the tiles and panel and disposing of the old one. A repair deals only with the damage in one visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the entire job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why Canterbury customers choose us

  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Fixed prices from your photos
  • We come to you, anywhere in the UK

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Steel baths and trays have a thin metal body under the enamel. Exposed steel rusts quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Cast iron

Cast iron baths are so heavy that repairing in place makes obvious sense. Only the enamel surface wears or chips, and that is the part we put right.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price depends on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • How many items we do on one visit

Our prices are the same across the UK, with no extra for Canterbury. What changes the price is the job itself: how much damage, what it’s made of and how many items.

Quotes from your pictures

A couple of clear pictures is all it takes. Try to include:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • A picture taken from further back
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A close-up of the damage, in focus

Ring 0345 017 0787, or send us photos through the quote form. With a clear picture of the damage and one of the entire bath, we can price the job.

Keeping it looking good

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Do not leave a fresh chip for long
  • Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot

There is nothing special to do after a repair, just sensible cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.
