Tyseley questions

Which areas do you work in?

We work UK-wide, so Tyseley is covered. Our prices are the same everywhere.

How much does bath repair cost in Tyseley?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

Do I have to be there?

Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time we agree with you.

Is a cracked acrylic bath repairable?

Often, yes, as long as we can get to the back of the crack to support it. Take off the bath panel and check, or send us a photo.

Is it worth repairing rather than replacing?

Generally, when the rest is in good condition. A repair avoids removal and making good. We’ll tell you honestly if replacement makes more sense.

Something went through my bath. Can it be fixed?

Frequently, if there is access underneath. We back the hole, fill it and refinish the surface.

Do the materials smell?

Expect a mild smell while we are working, which fades afterwards.

Will the price change on the day?

The price is fixed for what the photos show. Anything extra is discussed before we begin.

Different materials, different repairs

Acrylic

Acrylic feels warm and is light, but it needs firm support underneath. Repairs to cracks are reinforced from the back.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

DIY kit or professional repair?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We remove the old filler and start again, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. It does add a little time, so tell us about it when you send pictures.

When we’d advise against a repair

In fairness, there are a few things a repair will not fix:

  • A steel bath rusted through
  • Cracks in acrylic we cannot reach from underneath
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer.

How we price bath repair

Prices start from £95. We charge the same across the UK, including Tyseley. The price reflects:

  • The colour and finish to match
  • The type of damage
  • The material and finish
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Compared with replacing, a repair is usually a fraction of the price, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Getting a price from pictures

Good pictures mean an accurate price. Here’s what helps:

  • The postcode, so we can plan the visit
  • Details of any past repairs
  • One sharp close-up of the damage
  • The material, if you know it

Call 0345 017 0787 or use the quote form. With one close-up and one wider picture, we can give you a fixed quote.

Why repair rather than replace?

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and the plumbing has to be disconnected and refitted. Repairing the damage avoids all of that. Our bath repair starts from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

How to care for the repair

To keep it looking its best:

  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Clean with warm water and a mild detergent
  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early

Look after the repair the same way as the bath: a soft cloth and washing-up liquid is all it needs. Avoid scourers and gritty cream cleaners.

Tape over a fresh chip or crack until it’s repaired, so water cannot get in. Remove it before the repair.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Tyseley

For anyone letting property in or around Tyseley, we can repair and quote for several addresses together. Send photos for each one and we’ll come back with a combined price.

Hotels, guest houses and holiday lets cannot afford rooms out of action for long, so we keep visits short and tidy. We will fit around changeovers where we can.

How it works

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room beforehand. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. It normally takes a few hours, depending on the damage, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

How to prepare

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us about parking, stairs or access
  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
