Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and you can typically bathe again the following day. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because nothing is disconnected. We work on roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and cast iron enamel, and the jobs we see most are hairline or through cracks in acrylic and chips on the rim or sides.

What a repair can’t fix
A repair isn’t always the answer, and we’ll tell you before we start. We can’t fix:
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
- Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Pressed steel enamel
- Cast iron enamel
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Acrylic
Repairing versus replacing in Uig
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It’s quicker, cheaper and far less disruptive, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we’ll tell you. Our bath repair starts from £95. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed quote from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Different materials, different repairs
Pressed steel
Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.
Acrylic
Acrylic is light and warm to the touch, but it needs firm support underneath. Cracks are strengthened from behind before the front is finished.
Questions from Uig
I’m a tenant. Can you help?
Yes, but check with your landlord or agent first. Landlords are often glad to have it sorted.
When can you do it?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send pictures with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.
Do you cover the whole of Highland?
Everywhere in the UK, Uig included. There is no extra charge for travel.
Do you come to Uig?
Yes. We cover the entire UK and travel to Uig and the rest of Highland. Send photos and we’ll quote, or call 0345 017 0787.
Do I need to be at home?
Yes. The technician needs access to the room for the visit, at a time that suits you.
Do you work for landlords and businesses?
Yes. We carry out repairs for homeowners, landlords, letting agents, builders and businesses in Uig.
How long before I can use the bath?
Most baths can be used the next day. We will tell you the exact curing time when we finish.
Do you repair coloured baths?
Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.
Landlord and trade work in Uig
We work for landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Uig as well as homeowners. Repairing between tenancies keeps void periods short, and it costs much less than replacing.
We also carry out snagging repairs for builders and developers, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We are CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited.
Should I try a DIY kit first?
It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is normally the cheaper route.
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
Common problems we fix in Uig
Most bath damage comes from something dropped: a shampoo bottle, a shower head, a tile or a tool during a refit. On steel and cast iron baths, any chip down to the metal lets water in, and rust follows.
The things customers generally mention when they call include:
- A hole punched through by something heavy
- Damage beneath the taps
- Scuffs and scratches in the surface
- Hairline or through cracks in acrylic

Aftercare tips
How the surface is treated afterwards matters:
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
- Do not leave razors or cans standing in the bath
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before running a bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water can’t get in. Remove it before the repair.
The process
Once we are through the door, the aim is to do the job without disturbing the rest of your home. Surfaces nearby are masked off, the job takes a few hours, depending on the damage, depending on what we find, and we finish with a tidy-up and a look at the finished work together.
- Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
- The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
- Filler goes in and is sanded flush once it has set.
- We match both the colour and the shine.
- We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the day after.
Before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
- Point us to the nearest place to park
Ask for a price
There’s no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we’ll come back to you with a fixed figure.
