Bath repair for Wall homes

Bath repair in Wall without replacing anything

We repair just the damaged spot and colour-match it to the bath, which is far cheaper than replacing a fitted bath and the tiles around it. You can normally use the bath the day after. We regularly repair whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and people most often call us about chips under the taps and snagging damage from a refit.

All of our repairs are guaranteed for twelve months, and the guarantee is the same wherever you live. We return to put right any problem with the work.

When to call us in Wall

Baths take more knocks than people expect: bottles, shower heads and razors are dropped every day, and taps and wastes are tightened against the surface. Sooner or later, most baths pick up a chip.

Common reasons people in Wall contact us are:

  • A kit repair that didn’t last
  • Rusty patches near the plughole
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Chips on the rim or sides

Prices and what affects them

Repairs from £95. You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:

  • Previous DIY repairs that have to come out
  • Unusual colours or finishes
  • The type of damage
  • How many areas need work

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

Two or three clear photos are normally enough. It helps if you send:

  • Any earlier repairs or coatings
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One picture of the whole bath

To get a price, send two or three pictures using our quote form or call us. We’ll say straight away whether it can be repaired.

Repairing versus replacing in Wall

A new bath brings a chain of other jobs: the tiles sitting on the rim tend to break, the panel may not fit the new one, and a plumber has to disconnect and reconnect everything. A repair skips all of it. Our bath repair starts from £95. A repair is priced on what needs doing, not your postcode. You’ll see the full price before you book, with no extras added later.

What you get with us

  • Straight answers about what a repair can do
  • Dust sheets down, tidy finish
  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • CHAS and Constructionline accredited

When we’d advise against a repair

We will not take on work that will not last, so here’s what a repair cannot put right:

  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
  • A steel bath rusted through

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Surfaces we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

What your bath is made of matters

Acrylic

An acrylic bath is a moulded sheet strengthened from below. There’s no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and cracks need support from behind to stay fixed.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, in much the same way.

Can I fix it myself?

What a professional repair adds is preparation, colour matching and finishing. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

How to look after the repair

Aftercare is simple, and it makes a real difference:

  • A dripping tap stains enamel, so fix it early
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath
  • Put a towel in the bath if you are working above it
  • Have new chips seen to early

There is nothing special to do after a repair, beyond gentle cleaning. Avoid bleach-based and gritty cleaners.

Do not leave a chip on a steel or cast iron bath. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, turning a quick repair into a bigger one.

What we do, step by step

We agree an arrival time beforehand, so you’re not left guessing. Once we’re there, the work takes a few hours, depending on the damage for most jobs. We leave the room clean and you will know when it can be used.

  1. First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
  2. Loose enamel, rust and dirt are removed so the repair can bond.
  3. We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
  4. We tint the finish by hand to match the bath.
  5. Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
  • Make sure the room can be ventilated
  • Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
