Should you replace it?
If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and you keep the bath you chose. If the entire surface is worn, re-enamelling may make more sense, and we will tell you. Prices start from £95. Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

How we price bath repair
Repairs from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before booking. We take into account:
- Access to the area
- How many items we do on one visit
- Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
- The material
Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there is no removal, plumbing or making good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.
Send photos for a quote
It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:
- A close-up of the damage, in focus
- What it’s made of, if you know
- Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare
- Details of any past repairs
Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, and tell us you’re in Wearde, and we will come back with a fixed quote.
How the visit works
There’s not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. Most visits take a few hours, depending on the damage, including clearing up.
- We protect the bath and the floor around it.
- We clean, key and degrease the damage.
- We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
- Colour and gloss are matched to the surrounding surface.
- We tidy up and tell you when the bath can be used, normally the following day.
Getting ready for the visit
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
- Let the surface dry out before the visit

There is no need for us to visit first. Photos are enough for us to price nearly every job: we need a close-up, a wider picture and your postcode, and we will reply with a fixed quote.
Advice
When we’d advise against a repair
Some jobs are not right for a repair, including:
- Metal that has corroded all the way through
- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
- Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer before booking.
What we work on
- Cast iron enamel
- Acrylic
- Whirlpool & spa baths
- Roll-top & freestanding
- Pressed steel enamel
Repairs by material
Pressed steel
Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.
Cast iron
A cast iron bath is heavy enough that most people never want to move it. The enamel is the part that wears or chips, and that is what we repair.
Can I fix it myself?
If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and give it the full curing time. If it fails, we can still put it right.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The risk is that a kit repair hides the damage for a while, then fails, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
Your questions about bath repair in Wearde
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
Generally, yes. Let us know what was used before and we’ll plan for it.
How much does bath repair cost in Wearde?
Repairs from £95. Every job gets a fixed price based on pictures of the damage. Send a close-up and a photo of the whole item and your postcode.
Will I be able to see the repair?
The goal is a repair that blends in. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.
Is it messy?
Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and we clean up when we’ve finished.
What areas do you cover?
All of Cornwall, and the rest of the UK. There’s no extra charge for travel.
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.
Are you accredited?
Yes, including CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor. See our accreditations page for the full list.
How soon can you come?
It depends on the time of year and where you are. Send photos with your postcode and we’ll reply with the earliest dates.

Aftercare tips
To keep it looking its best for years:
- Don’t scrub with anything abrasive
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
- Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
- Make sure an acrylic bath is firm underfoot
Clean with mild, non-abrasive cleaners and avoid dropping heavy items on the repaired area. Deal with new chips early, before rust sets in.
If an acrylic bath has a crack, stop showering in it until it’s repaired. Each time it flexes, the crack grows, and it can start to leak underneath.
