Bath repair at your home in Wells-in-the-Field

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a repair that is smooth, sound and hard to spot. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it sits flush with the rest of the bath. Typical jobs include a cracked acrylic bath and an old repair that has yellowed or come loose, across roll-top & freestanding, acrylic and cast iron enamel.

We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

Why repair rather than replace?

Cast iron baths especially are worth keeping: they’re very heavy to remove, especially upstairs, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: access, material, the extent of the damage and whether we can do several items together. Send photos and you will get a fixed figure.

FAQs for Wells-in-the-Field

Is there any odour?

It depends on the job, but frequently a little. Open windows and an extractor fan help, and it soon fades.

Can you price it without visiting?

In nearly every case. If pictures don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Can you repair a chip on a coloured bath?

Yes. We mix the colour on the day to match, including pastel and older colours.

What happens once I’ve sent pictures?

Send photos through the quote form or call 0345 017 0787, and we’ll take it from there.

Will I be able to see the repair?

On a glossy bath, you will struggle to find it. On worn enamel, it can look shinier than the rest.

Landlords, agents and businesses in Wells-in-the-Field

For developers and builders, we fix damage before handover, so there is no need to replace a damaged item at the last minute. We can visit several plots in one trip.

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing things at every changeover adds up. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

What happens on the day

We turn up when we said we would, introduces themselves and checks the damage against your pictures first. Dust sheets and masking tape go down before we open a single tin. The work itself takes a morning or an afternoon, and the room is left clean and tidy.

  1. First, the area is cleaned and any loose enamel or rust is removed.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. The colour is mixed on the spot to match your bath.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can typically use the bath the following day.

How to prepare

Looking after it afterwards

A little care keeps the finish looking good. We recommend:

  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Use a soft cloth and washing-up liquid for everyday cleaning
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

Keep metal objects like razors and cans off the surface, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

Rust under enamel spreads surprisingly quickly. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so it pays to deal with it early.

Materials and what they mean for the repair

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Exposed steel rusts fast, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and often freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour-matched, just like other baths.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.

Honest limits

It helps to know what we can’t do too:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Wear across the whole surface, which needs re-enamelling

Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

Surfaces we repair

  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You will know the full cost before booking. We take into account:

  • The material and finish
  • The colour and finish to match
  • How much damage there is
  • How easy the damage is to reach

No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Send photos for a quote

It only takes a minute to photograph the damage, and it saves a visit. Please include:

  • The material, if you know it
  • Good light, ideally daylight, without flash glare

No survey visit is needed: we price from photos. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.
