About our bath repair in West Town

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the next day. There is no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath doesn’t move. We work on cast iron enamel, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and common reasons people contact us are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and rust by the waste and overflow.

You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before you book.

Work for landlords and builders

Rental properties take more wear, and replacing items every time a tenant leaves is expensive. A repair between tenancies is a cheaper way to keep the property in good order.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

DIY kit or professional repair?

For a hairline mark somewhere you’ll never see, a kit may be enough. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, it’s worth having it done properly.

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully and work on a clean, dry surface, and don’t use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

Repair or replace: which is better?

If the rest of the bath is in good condition, a repair is almost always the better choice. It costs less, takes less time and causes far less upheaval, and the bathroom stays as it is. Where the whole surface is tired, we may suggest re-enamelling instead. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Rather than charging by the hour, we price the whole job up front. Damage, material and access decide it, and combining items on one visit brings it down.

Why book with us

Aftercare tips

How the surface is treated afterwards matters. Here’s what we suggest:

  • If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
  • Don’t leave a fresh chip for long
  • Rinse it down after each bath
  • Protect the bath with a towel when doing jobs nearby

Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

Stop using the bath if a crack lets water through until it’s repaired. Water under the bath can damage the floor and the ceiling below.

How the visit works

Arrival times are agreed in advance, so you’re not left guessing. Once we are there, the work takes a few hours in most cases. We leave the room clean.

  1. Dust sheets and masking go down around the bath.
  2. The damaged area is cleaned, keyed and degreased, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the next day.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Ensure the room can be ventilated
  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children

Advice

West Town questions

Can you quote from photos?

Nearly always. If photos don’t show enough, we will ask for another angle.

Is a holed acrylic bath repairable?

Generally, yes, if we can reach behind it. The hole is backed, filled and refinished to match.

Can you repair several things at once?

Yes. Combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down. Include photos of each item.

Will you leave a mess?

Dust sheets and masking go down before we start, and tidy up before we leave.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes, for a year. If anything goes wrong with the repair within the year, we return to fix it.

Is a bath repair permanent?

It should, as long as the bath is firm and the area was prepared well. It carries our one-year guarantee.

Do you cover West Town?

Yes, we do. We send a technician to West Town for every job, and the price is the same as everywhere else.

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

Most of the time. Tell us what was done before.

When a repair is not the answer

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair will not do:

  • Flexing caused by a failed cradle or loose feet
  • Leaks from the waste or overflow fittings (a plumber’s job)
  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath

Not sure? Send photos and we’ll give you a straight answer.

Materials we work on in West Town

  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Acrylic
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Pressed steel enamel

Prices and what affects them

Prices start from £95. You’ll know the full cost before booking. We look at:

  • Whether we combine several jobs
  • How hard the colour is to match
  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material

No two jobs are quite the same, so we price each one individually. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Send pictures for a quote

You can take the photos on your phone. Just make sure we can see:

  • The material, if you know it
  • A wider photo showing the whole bath
  • A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
  • Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection

For a price in West Town, the easiest route is pictures: a close-up, a wider shot and your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
