Bath repair for Wing homes

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. A fixed quote means you know the cost before you book. We take into account:

  • Whether old repairs or coatings need taking off
  • The material and finish
  • Whether it’s a chip, crack, burn or wear
  • The size and number of damaged areas

Every job is a little different, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your photos

The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • Where you are, by postcode
  • A picture taken from further back
  • The material, if you know it

If you are in Wing and want a price, pictures are the quickest way: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. You’ll get a fixed quote with dates to choose from.

Bath repair in Wing without replacing anything

Whatever the damage, the aim is the same: a smooth, solid repair that blends in. We prepare the area properly, fill and shape it, then match the colour and gloss so it’s level with the surrounding surface. Common call-outs are for damage beneath the taps and rust by the waste and overflow, in pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Wing as everywhere else we work.

Keeping it looking good

To keep it looking its best for years:

  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Have new chips seen to early
  • Keep abrasive pads and gritty cleaners away from the bath

For the first few days, keep heavy bottles off the repaired spot. After that, clean it as you would the rest of the bath, avoiding abrasives.

If water is getting through a crack, stop using the bath until it’s repaired. Leaks under a bath can damage floors and ceilings.

Do you need bath repair in Wing?

The usual cause is something heavy dropped into the bath, and a lot happen during bathroom refits. Acrylic baths crack for a different reason: poor support underneath, so the bath flexes when it’s full.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Hairline or through cracks in acrylic
  • Impact holes in acrylic

What your quote should include

  • Who turns up on the day
  • What prep work is covered
  • How to look after the finish
  • How soon you can use it again

Our hiring checklist

Your questions about bath repair in Wing

Can pets and children be at home?

Please keep children and pets out of the room during the visit and until it has cured. Everywhere else in the home is fine.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

Do you hold any accreditations?

We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.

Will the price change on the day?

We stop, show you and agree any change before carrying on. Nothing extra is done without your say-so.

Can you repair a hole in a bath?

Normally. Photos of the hole and the underside help us check.

What happens next?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote.

Is a repair better than a new one?

Generally, yes. Replacement brings removal, refitting and making good, which a repair avoids. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

In most cases. We reinforce the crack from behind, then fill and refinish the front, so we need access under the bath.

What we do, step by step

When we visit, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. Expect it to take two to three hours for most chips. We tidy up before we leave and let you know when you can use it again.

  1. We clean the area and remove any loose enamel or rust.
  2. Next we fill the damage and sand it smooth and level.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. Finish coats go on, then the repair is polished to blend in.
  5. We leave it to cure; you can generally use the bath the day after.

Different materials, different repairs

Pressed steel

Pressed steel is thinner and lighter, with an enamel finish like cast iron. Chips rust quickly on steel, particularly by the plughole, so early repairs matter.

Cast iron

Cast iron is heavy and rigid, finished with fired enamel. Chips can rust if left, but the body of the bath lasts a very long time, which makes it well worth repairing.

Repairing versus replacing in Wing

Swapping a damaged bath for a new one normally involves a plumber, removing the old bath, re-tiling and a new panel and getting rid of the old bath. Repairing it deals only with the damage in a single visit. Our bath repair starts from £95. It helps to know what pushes a price up or down: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Photos let us give you a fixed figure.

Work for landlords and builders

We regularly work with letting and managing agents. Just send pictures, the address and how to get access and we’ll handle the rest.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

What a repair can’t fix

A repair isn’t always the answer, and we will tell you before we start. We can’t fix:

  • A bath that moves underfoot, until its support is fixed
  • Leaking fittings, which need a plumber
  • A steel bath rusted through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair
