Bath repair at your home in Wistaston

Small damage on a bath is worth repairing early. On steel and cast iron, exposed metal starts to rust, while cracks in acrylic grow each time the bath moves. Repairing it stops the damage getting worse. Our repair technicians work on whirlpool & spa baths, acrylic and roll-top & freestanding, and people most frequently call us about scratches you can feel with a fingernail and rust spots around the plughole.

Every job is backed for twelve months. We return to put right any problem with the work.

Different materials, different repairs

Composite and resin

Composite baths are dense and solid, and frequently freestanding. Chips and scratches can be filled and colour matched, just like other baths.

Pressed steel

Steel baths are lighter than cast iron, but have a similar enamel surface. Chips rust quickly on steel, especially around the waste, so early repairs matter.

What we cannot put right

A few problems are outside what a surface repair can do:

  • Rust that has eaten right through a steel bath
  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • A bath worn all over, where resurfacing makes more sense

If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before booking.

What we work on

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel

Should I try a DIY kit first?

If you’re set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it fails, we can still put it right.

It’s tempting to reach for a kit, but the repairs we redo most often are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is generally the cheaper route.

How it works

There is not much you need to do on the day. Let us in and show us the room, and we’ll get on with it. The job generally runs to two to three hours for most chips, including clearing up.

  1. We start by cleaning the damage and taking out loose enamel and rust.
  2. The chip or crack is filled, then sanded level with the bath.
  3. We mix the colour on the day to match your bath’s exact shade.
  4. We apply the finish coats and polish the repair so it blends in.
  5. The repair is left to cure, and most baths can be used the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know if it has been repaired before
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit
  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area

Looking after it afterwards

Aftercare is simple:

  • Rinse the bath after use, especially in hard water areas
  • Do not scrub with anything abrasive
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
  • Cover the bath during DIY or decorating

Give the repair the full curing time we recommend before using the bath. After that, gentle cleaning keeps it looking good.

Rust spreads under enamel faster than most people expect. Left for months, a small chip can grow into a large rust patch, so early repair keeps the cost down.

Common problems we fix in Wistaston

Rust tends to begin where water collects, around the waste, under the taps or in an old chip. Once water reaches the steel or iron, rust spreads under the enamel.

Contact us if you’ve noticed any of these:

  • Rust by the waste and overflow
  • Chips under the taps
  • An old repair that has yellowed or come loose
  • Cracks in an acrylic bath

Our hiring checklist

Should you replace it?

A repair makes sense whenever the damage is localised. It costs far less than a new bath plus fitting, it’s done in one visit, and nothing else in the room changes. Our bath repair starts from £95. There are no surprise extras on the day. The price we quote from your photos is the price you pay, unless the damage turns out to be different, in which case we talk to you first.

Why us?

  • A year’s guarantee on all work
  • Work done at your home or business
  • Same prices wherever you are

For landlords and businesses

Housing associations and facilities teams use us for planned and reactive repairs. A repair avoids taking out and refitting, which is easier on the people living there.

Landlords, letting agents and housing providers in Wistaston use us as well as homeowners. A repair between tenants keeps the property empty for less time, and it usually costs far less than a refit.

We cover the whole UK, including Wistaston and the rest of Cheshire East. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll offer you dates.

Can you do more than one item on the same visit?

Yes, and it’s often cheaper. Just add the extra items to your pictures and you’ll get one combined price.

I’m a tenant. Can you help?

We are happy to deal with the tenant, landlord or agent. Get your landlord’s agreement first.

Will you leave a mess?

Do I have to be there?

A properly prepared repair should last a long time, and ours come with a one-year guarantee. Gentle cleaning helps.

What information do you need?

Photos of the damage, a photo of the entire bath and your postcode. After that, we just agree a date.

Do you repair coloured baths?

Yes, we match coloured baths too. We tint the finish to your bath on site.
