Wood

Worktop repair in Wistaston without replacing anything

Pan burns, chipped edges and knife scratches make up most of our worktop work. We repair them all in your kitchen. If you’re dealing with damage around the sink cut-out and a dent from a dropped pan, we can help, on quartz, solid wood and solid surface (such as Corian) alike.

All our work comes with a one-year guarantee, wherever you are in Cheshire East.

DIY kit or professional repair?

The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We prepare the area properly, mix the colour on site and polish the finish to match, then guarantee it for a year.

A kit can be fine for a tiny mark out of sight. For damage in plain view, cracks, holes or rust, or coloured finishes, a professional repair is worth it.

Repairing versus replacing in Wistaston

Replacing a worktop means taking out the damaged top, cutting and fitting a new one and reconnecting the sink and hob, and matching the rest of the kitchen can be hard. A repair keeps your existing worktop. Prices start from £95. No two jobs are quite the same, so each one is priced on its own. The size and type of damage, the material and access all play a part, and doing several things on one visit costs less than separate visits.

Why Wistaston clients choose us

  • Colour-matched on site
  • CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accredited
  • Rooms protected and left tidy
  • Usually one visit, start to finish

Choosing a repair company

Your questions about worktop repair in Wistaston

What happens after I send photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

How much do I need to move?

Just clear the area around the damage. The rest is covered and protected.

Is there any odour?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, which is why we ventilate. It fades as everything cures.

Can you redo someone else’s repair?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so let us know about it.

What does worktop repair cost?

Prices start from £95. Because every job differs, we price from photos. You know the full cost before anything is booked.

What if the damage is worse than the photos show?

It’s rare, but if it happens we talk to you first. You decide whether to go ahead.

Is there a guarantee?

Every repair comes with a one-year guarantee. We will explain what it covers when we quote.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Of course, and it usually saves money. Send pictures of everything together and you will get one combined price.

Honest limits

We will not take on work that will not last, so these are the limits:

  • Discolouration deep in quartz
  • A top that moves on its units
  • Water-swollen laminate

Not sure? Send pictures and we will give you a straight answer before booking.

Surfaces we repair

  • Solid wood
  • Solid surface (such as Corian)
  • Quartz
  • Granite & marble
  • Laminate

Keeping it looking good

After the repair has cured, a few habits help it last:

  • Wipe up spills quickly
  • Keep wood oiled
  • Avoid harsh chemicals on stone and quartz
  • Don’t cut directly on the worktop

Never put hot pans straight onto the worktop. Heat can mark quartz and stone as well.

Do not leave damage by the sink, because water gets in and swells the board.

What we do, step by step

Nothing needs to be moved out of the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and get going once we’ve agreed what we are doing. It generally takes a morning or an afternoon, and you’re welcome to carry on with your day while we work.

  1. The area around the damage is protected.
  2. We clean the damage and remove anything loose.
  3. We fill it and level it with the worktop.
  4. The colour and pattern are built up by hand.
  5. The repair is sealed and polished to match.

Before we arrive

  • Clear toiletries, mats and anything else from around the area
  • Have a window or extractor fan available
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
