Bath repair at your home in Wix

Most of our bath repairs take a few hours, and the bath is back in use the day after. There’s no need to book a plumber or tiler, because the bath does not move. If you’re dealing with a hole punched through by something heavy and scuffs and scratches in the surface, we can typically put it right, on acrylic, cast iron enamel and whirlpool & spa baths alike.

You get a one-year guarantee, the same in Wix as everywhere else we work.

How the visit works

Expect a friendly, tidy visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, then carry out the work, which generally takes a few hours. If we find something your photos didn’t show, we will explain it before carrying on.

  1. We protect the bath and the floor around it.
  2. We clean, key and degrease the damage, and any rust is treated.
  3. We fill it, let it set, then sand it flush.
  4. We match both the colour and the shine.
  5. We clear up and give you the curing time, normally until the following day.

Preparing for the visit

  • Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
  • Let us know about parking or access
  • Let the surface dry out before the visit

Ask for a price

The quickest way to a price is to send two or three pictures using our quote form or ring us. We’ll tell you honestly whether it can be repaired.

Related advice

What bath repair costs

Prices start from £95. There are no hourly rates or hidden extras. The price is based on:

  • What the surface is made of
  • The size and number of damaged areas
  • Doing more than one item at once
  • Access to the area

Compared with replacing, repairing usually costs far less, because there’s no removal, plumbing or making good. Your fixed quote shows exactly what’s included.

Getting a price from pictures

Phone pictures are fine, there is no need for anything special. Just ensure we can see:

  • What it’s made of, if you know
  • One picture of the entire bath
  • Something in shot to show the size
  • One sharp close-up of the damage

We price from photos so you do not have to wait in for a survey. Send them through the quote form, or call 0345 017 0787 if you’d rather talk it through.

Should I try a DIY kit first?

Kits are cheap and easy to find, but many of the jobs we do start with putting right a DIY repair. Getting it right first time is typically cheaper.

If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it won’t stop us repairing it. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.

When to call us in Wix

Glass and heavy bottles cause more chips than anything else. Taps and wastes cause problems too: water collects there, so chips nearby rust quickly.

The things customers generally mention when they call are:

  • A failed DIY repair that is discoloured or lifting
  • Chips caused by builders
  • A chipped rim or side
  • Chips under the taps

What your quote should include

  • What preparation is included
  • Aftercare advice
  • Whether they match the colour on site
  • What happens if they find more damage

For landlords and businesses

We’re used to working with agents and managing companies. Send the address, photos and access details.

We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. That means we can quote before you even visit the property, and we can arrange access with the tenant directly if that helps.

Questions from Wix

It’s been repaired before. Can you still fix it?

In most cases. We remove the old repair before doing a new one, so mention it when you send photos.

How long before I can use the bath?

Most baths can be used the following day. We’ll tell you the exact curing time when we finish.

Do the materials smell?

Some materials have a smell while they’re applied, so we ventilate the room. It fades as everything cures.

Can a cracked acrylic bath be fixed?

In most cases. The back of the crack is strengthened before the front is filled and refinished, so access behind the panel is important.

How invisible is a bath repair?

On a glossy bath, you’ll struggle to find it. On older, dull enamel the repair can look glossier than the area around it.

What happens once I’ve sent photos?

We review the photos and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Is a repair better than a new one?

In most cases, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We will be honest if it’s not worth it.

Do I need to be at home?

Someone needs to let us in and show us the job. You don’t need to watch us work.

What we cannot put right

We’d rather lose a job than do one that won’t last, so these are the limits:

  • Water coming from the waste or taps rather than the bath
  • Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we cannot get to from below
  • A steel bath rusted through

Send us photos and we’ll tell you honestly.

Materials we repair

  • Acrylic
  • Cast iron enamel
  • Roll-top & freestanding
  • Pressed steel enamel
  • Whirlpool & spa baths

Repairing versus replacing in Wix

People frequently assume a cracked or chipped bath has to come out. In most cases it doesn’t: a proper repair gives it years more use, without the cost and upheaval of replacing it. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many items we do on one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so you know the cost before booking.

Why book with us

  • Everything repaired in place
  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

Keeping it looking good

So the finish stays in good condition:

  • Store metal items away from the bath
  • Get any new chip repaired before it rusts
  • Fix dripping taps early to stop staining and limescale
  • Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth

Do not leave razors, cans or hair grips in the bath, as they can leave rust marks. A dripping tap should be fixed early, too.

A chip on a metal bath shouldn’t be left. Once water reaches the metal, rust begins, and a rust spot is a bigger repair than a clean chip.
