What we’re called out for in Ystrad
Dropped items cause the majority of chips, and building work is a common culprit. Cracks in acrylic have a different cause: the bath is not properly supported, so it flexes under weight.
Send us a photo if you notice any of these:
- Deep scratches in acrylic
- A kit repair that didn’t last
- Damage done while the bathroom was being fitted
- A chip where the taps sit

Bath repair in Ystrad without replacing anything
You don’t need a new bath because of a chip. Our technicians fill, shape and refinish the damage, with the colour mixed on site. We work on pressed steel enamel, whirlpool & spa baths and acrylic, and the jobs we see most are an old repair that has yellowed or come loose and chips under the taps.
You’re covered after we leave: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we explain what it covers before booking.

What we cannot put right
Before booking, it’s worth knowing the limits too:

- Cracks in parts of an acrylic bath we can’t get to from below
Send us pictures and we’ll tell you honestly.

Repairs by material
Acrylic
Acrylic baths are moulded sheet reinforced underneath. There is no rust, but cracks, holes and scratches happen, and a crack only stays repaired if it’s supported underneath.
Pressed steel
Under the enamel of a steel bath is thin metal. Once a chip exposes it, rust follows quickly, so we treat and seal the metal before filling.

Looking after it afterwards
Much of the damage we repair could have been avoided. These habits help:
- Stick to mild cleaners and a soft cloth
- Do not scrub with anything abrasive
- If an acrylic bath flexes, have its feet adjusted
- Give the bath a quick rinse after use
Leave the repair to cure for as long as we say before using the bath. From then on, mild cleaning is all it needs.
Until we visit, a strip of waterproof tape over the damage helps, so water cannot get in. Take it off before we arrive.
FAQs for Ystrad
When can I have a bath again?
Typically within a day, though it depends on what we’ve done.
How invisible is a bath repair?
We aim for a repair you can’t easily find. The rest of the bath’s condition makes a difference.
Can you do more than one item on the same visit?
Of course, and it normally saves money. Just add the extra items to your photos and you’ll get one combined price.
Do you repair coloured baths?
Yes, coloured baths are no problem. We tint the finish to your bath on site.
Is a bath repair permanent?
Done properly, a repair lasts for years, and it’s guaranteed for a year. Gentle cleaning helps it last.
Can pets and children be at home?
On the day, the room should be kept clear of pets and children.
How do I book?
A close-up, a wider photo and your postcode. Then we will agree a date.
Can I get a quote without a visit?
In nearly every case. We only ask to see it in person if the photos can’t show what we need.
Repair or replace in Ystrad?
Cast iron baths in particular are worth repairing: getting one out, particularly from an upstairs bathroom, is a big job, and a like-for-like replacement can be expensive. Repairing it leaves it where it is. Repairs from £95, with every job priced individually. Most people are surprised how affordable a repair is, particularly next to the cost of replacement. Prices and what affects them
Repairs from £95. There’s no area surcharge for Ystrad. The price reflects:
- Doing more than one item at once
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The material
- How hard the colour is to match
A repair is priced on what needs doing, not where you live. The full price is agreed before booking, with no extras added later.
How to get a fixed price
Almost every job we do is priced from pictures. This is what to send:
- A clear, close picture of the problem area
- Where you are, by postcode
- Daylight if possible, and no flash reflection
- What it’s made of, if you know
Pricing is simple: take a close-up of the damage and a picture from further back, send them over with your postcode, and you will get a fixed quote back. Quotes are free and no obligation.
How the visit works
You don’t need to empty the room. Everything we use comes in the van with us, lay protective sheets and start once you are happy with the plan. Most jobs take a morning or an afternoon, and you can get on with other things while we’re there.
- First, we check the damage against your photos and agree the plan.
- Any rust and loose material comes out, and the area is degreased.
- We build up the filler in layers, shaping it to the bath.
- The colour is tinted by hand until it matches.
- Finally, it’s polished to match the shine and left to cure.
Before we arrive
- Let us know which floor the room is on
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Move bottles, mats and clutter away from the area
Getting a price
A quote takes minutes to ask for: photograph the damage, then the whole bath, include your postcode and send them over. You’ll get a fixed quote, not an estimate.
