Bath resealing in Albury without replacing anything
We cut out all of the old sealant, treat any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We do this for baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Whether it’s sealant that’s split or lifting and missing sealant behind the taps, we can usually put it right.
Your repair is guaranteed for a year, as with every job we do.

Should I try a DIY kit first?
The difference between a kit and a professional repair is mostly in the preparation and colour. We clean and key the area properly, mix the colour to your surface and finish it to the same sheen, and the work is guaranteed.
DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. Where they fall down is colour and preparation: they come in a handful of shades, and if the surface is not prepared the repair will not last.
Keeping it looking good
Aftercare is simple:
- Store bottles on a shelf
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Open a window after bathing
- Keep the joints dry
Use the extractor fan, wipe the joints dry after use, and give them a regular clean with a mild cleaner to slow mould growth.
Black mould in sealant isn’t just unsightly; it shows moisture is getting in. An early reseal keeps water where it belongs.
Albury questions
Is repairing better than replacing?
Generally, yes. A repair skips the removal, fitting and redecorating. We’ll be honest if it’s not worth it.
Are you accredited?
We hold CHAS, Constructionline, SafeContractor, SMAS Worksafe and Builder’s Profile accreditations.
Is it safe with children and pets around?
We ask you to keep children and pets out of the room while we work and until it has cured. The rest of the house is unaffected.
What happens if you find more damage?
The price is fixed for what the pictures show. If there’s more, we’ll tell you before starting.
Which areas do you work in?
The whole UK, including all of Hertfordshire. Send your postcode with your pictures and we’ll confirm dates.
How long before I can shower?
We’ll give you the curing time, usually around a day.
Do you seal over the old sealant?
We always remove the old sealant completely. Fresh silicone doesn’t stick to old.
Can you quote from photos?
Yes, almost always. A close-up and a wider photo are enough to give a fixed quote.
Why reseal now?
A professional reseal costs little compared with water damage. It’s quick, tidy and protects your home. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, the material and how many jobs we combine into one visit. You get a fixed quote from your photos, so there are no surprises on the day.

How the visit works
On the day, we arrive at the time we’ve agreed, cover the area with dust sheets and masking, and set to work. The job usually takes about two hours for a bath. We tidy up before we leave and tell you when it’s ready to use.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- The joint is cleaned and any mould treated.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- New mould-resistant silicone goes on and is tooled to a neat finish, taps included.
How to prepare
- Have somewhere for us to park nearby if possible
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Tell us if there are stairs or a lift
Get a quote
Upload pictures of the damage and a wider shot of the entire item, with your SG11 postcode, and we’ll reply with a fixed quote.

What a repair cannot fix
Some problems need a builder, plumber or fitter rather than us:
- Gaps so wide they need filling or trims before sealing
- Water damage behind the bath that needs a builder
- Movement in the bath or tray
If in doubt, send pictures and we’ll say what we think before you book.

What bath resealing costs
You will not pay by the hour. The price is based on:
- Doing more than one item at once
- The colour and finish to match
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- Access to the area
Rather than charging by the hour, we fix the price before we start. It depends on the damage, the material and access, and combining items on one visit brings it down.
Send pictures for a quote
The better the pictures, the more accurate the price. Here’s what we find most useful:
- Whether it’s been repaired or coated before
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- A wider photo showing the whole bath or shower
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
If you’re in Albury and want a price, the easiest route is photos: one close up, one from further back, plus your postcode. We reply with a fixed quote and our next available dates.
