Bath & shower resealing (mastic) in Alderton, Wiltshire
Bath resealing for Alderton, without a refit. Send us photos for a fixed price, then book a visit.
- Missing sealant behind the taps
- Stained silicone
- Sealant that is split or lifting

Bath resealing in Alderton, done in place
A fresh seal protects your bathroom. Old, split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, and resealing puts a stop to that. Typical jobs include a messy previous reseal and gaps by the taps, in shower trays & enclosures, wet rooms and baths.
We guarantee the work for a year. If there’s a problem with the repair within the year, we return and sort it.

How to care for the repair
It’s all simple stuff, just a few sensible habits:
- Reseal at the first sign of lifting
- Air the room after use
- Use the extractor fan
- Dry the seal after bathing
Avoid scraping the joints, and do not stand bottles on the seal.
Do not wait until water gets behind the bath. Gaps or lifting edges mean it needs doing.
For landlords and businesses
Builders, developers and site managers book us for snagging repairs, fixing chips and scratches before handover. We hold CHAS, Constructionline and SafeContractor accreditations.
We regularly price jobs from inventory or check-out pictures. You can have a price before you arrange access, and we liaise with tenants about access if you’d like us to.
Questions from Alderton
What happens after I send photos?
We look at the photos and reply with a fixed quote and some dates. If anything’s unclear, we’ll ask for another photo.
What information do you need?
Just pictures, your postcode and a contact number. On the day, we only need access to the room.
Will it make a mess?
We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and tidy up before we leave.
Which areas do you work in?
Across the UK. Our prices are the same everywhere.
How do I get a price for bath resealing in Alderton?
Every job gets a fixed quote based on photos of the damage. Send a close-up and a picture of the entire item and your postcode.
I rent my home. Can I book you?
We can work for tenants, landlords or agents. Just make sure the landlord agrees.
Why does my sealant keep going mouldy?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. Mould-resistant silicone and good ventilation help.
How long does resealing take?
Typically a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.
What a repair cannot fix
Before you book, it’s worth knowing the limits:
- Rotten walls or floors behind the bath
- A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
What we work on
- Baths
- Shower trays & enclosures
- Kitchen worktops & sinks
- Wet rooms
- Basins & vanity units
Is resealing worth it?
Putting new silicone over old does not last. It peels within weeks, and mould stays trapped behind it. We remove the old sealant completely. What it costs depends on how much damage there is and what kind, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so you know the cost before you book.

How it works
The work is clean and fairly quiet, so you can stay at home while we are there. Protection goes down first, then the job itself takes a couple of hours. Before we leave, we explain the curing time and the aftercare.
- The old silicone is cut out completely.
- We remove the residue and clean the joint.
- We treat mould and dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
- We apply fresh mould-resistant silicone and tool a neat bead.
How to prepare
- Tell us about any previous repairs or coatings
- Plan for the room to be out of bounds to pets and children
- Let us know which floor the room is on

Can I fix it myself?
If you’ve already tried a DIY fix, that’s fine. We take the old repair out and do it properly, so it doesn’t stop a professional repair. Just mention it when you send photos, as it can add time.
Kits are cheap and easy to find, but the repairs we redo most frequently are DIY ones that have discoloured or lifted. Doing it properly first is usually the cheaper route.

Basins, vanity units and kitchen worktops are resealed too, once the joint is completely dry.

Signs you need bath resealing in Alderton
Most reseals are because of black mould. It grows into the silicone, so cleaning only removes the surface.
