Bath resealing in Alltyblaca without replacing anything

All of the old sealant is cut out, deal with any mould, and apply fresh mould-resistant silicone. We reseal baths, showers, sinks and worktops, and that includes the awkward spots behind the taps. Whether it’s silicone coming away from the tiles and a messy previous reseal, we can typically put it right, on kitchen worktops & sinks, basins & vanity units and shower trays & enclosures alike.

Peace of mind is built in: each job carries a one-year guarantee, and we’ll explain exactly what it covers when we quote.

Why it’s worth resealing in Alltyblaca

Resealing is routine maintenance. Leaving split or mouldy sealant lets water get behind the bath or tray, which costs far more to put right. Set against the cost of replacement, a repair is generally a fraction of the price, because nothing has to be taken out, refitted or made good. The quote lists exactly what you are paying for.

Why us?

  • Honest advice, even when it means no job

What a repair can’t fix

Honesty matters more than a booking, so here’s what a repair cannot fix:

  • Hidden water damage
  • A bath or tray that moves, until its support is fixed
  • Hollow or loose tiles

If in doubt, send photos and we’ll say what we think.

Materials we repair

  • Kitchen worktops & sinks
  • Baths
  • Wet rooms
  • Shower trays & enclosures
  • Basins & vanity units

DIY kit or professional repair?

If you do try a kit, read the instructions carefully, make sure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.

DIY kits are sold for most surfaces, and they can make a small mark look better. The trouble is colour and preparation: kits come in a few standard shades, and without proper cleaning and keying the filler often lifts.

Alltyblaca questions

Can you quote from pictures?

Nearly always. We only ask to see it in person if the pictures can’t show what we need.

What happens after I send pictures?

We review the pictures and send a fixed quote and the next dates we have.

Do you work for landlords and businesses?

We do, regularly. We can quote for several properties together and work between tenancies.

Is it messy?

We protect the room with dust sheets and masking first, and we clean up when we’ve finished.

Can I add another job to the visit?

Yes. Doing several items on one visit generally costs less than separate visits. Send pictures of everything you’d like done.

When can I use the bath after resealing?

Normally about a day later. We confirm before we leave.

Can you reseal over the old silicone?

We always remove the old sealant completely. New silicone will not bond to old.

Are there extra charges for Alltyblaca?

No. Our quotes include travel, with the same prices everywhere we work.

How we price bath resealing

We price every job individually. The main factors are:

  • The type of damage
  • Any earlier repairs that need removing first
  • How much damage there is
  • How easy the damage is to reach

Every job is a little different, so we price each one individually. What’s damaged, how badly and how easy it is to reach all make a difference, and combining jobs on one visit brings the cost down.

Quotes from your pictures

Phone pictures are fine. Just ensure we can see:

  • Something in shot to show the size
  • A clear, close picture of the problem area
  • Your postcode, so we can check dates
  • One picture of the entire bath or shower

No survey visit is needed: we price from pictures. Use the quote form, or ring 0345 017 0787 to talk it through.

What your bath or shower is made of matters

Shower trays

Trays are sealed with weight on them, for the same reason.

Baths

Baths are resealed with water in them, to open the joint fully.

What we do, step by step

The work is clean and fairly quiet. We protect the area first, then the job itself takes about two hours for a bath. At the end we talk you through how soon it can be used and how to look after it.

  1. The old silicone is cut out completely.
  2. We remove the residue and clean the joint.
  3. Any mould is treated and the joint dried.
  4. We fill the bath, or weight the tray, to open the joint.
  5. New mould-resistant silicone is applied and tooled neatly.

Before we arrive

  • Let us know which floor the room is on
  • Keep children and pets away from the room on the day
  • Open a window if you can
