Bath resealing at your home in Ann Croft
Preparation is everything in a reseal: every bit of old silicone out, mould treated, the joint clean and dry. Only then does the new sealant go on, in a neat, continuous bead. Whether it’s gaps in the seal and an untidy old seal, we can usually put it right.
Every job is backed for twelve months. If something goes wrong with the work, we come back.

Is resealing worth it?
Resealing costs very little and protects the walls and floor. Failed sealant can lead to water damage that is much more expensive. The price depends on the type and amount of damage, what it’s made of and how many jobs we combine into one visit. We give a fixed price from your pictures, so there are no surprises on the day.

Common questions in Ann Croft
Does someone need to be in?
Yes. We need access to the room while we work, at a time we agree with you.
Is the work guaranteed?
All our work carries a one-year guarantee. Ask us what it covers when you get your quote.
Which areas do you work in?
We work UK-wide, and that includes Ann Croft. Our prices are the same everywhere.
How do I stop mould in sealant?
Mostly moisture and poor ventilation. We use mould-resistant silicone, and ventilation helps it last.
Can new silicone go over old?
No, we never seal over old silicone. It’s removed, cleaned off and the joint dried first.
How long does resealing take?
Usually a couple of hours, then it needs to cure.
Can you redo someone else’s repair?
In most cases. The old repair comes out first, so mention it when you send pictures.
Will you leave a mess?
No. The work area is masked and covered, and we leave the room clean.

Materials and what they mean for the repair
Sinks and worktops
We reseal basins, vanity tops and kitchen worktops, with the joint fully dried first.
Shower trays
We put weight on a tray before sealing it, so the joint is at its widest.
How we price bath resealing
Each job gets its own fixed quote. These are the things that affect it:
- The type of damage
- Any earlier repairs that need removing first
- The size and number of damaged areas
- Whether we combine several jobs
A few things move the price: the amount of damage, the material, access to the area, and how many jobs we do in one trip. Send photos and you’ll get a fixed figure.
How to get a fixed quote
You can typically get a fixed quote without us visiting. To make it quick:
- Natural light rather than flash
- One sharp close-up of the damage
- What it’s made of, if you know
- A coin beside the damage so we can judge size
Send us photos of the damage and a wider shot of the whole item, with your SK17 postcode, and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.
What we are called out for in Ann Croft
Joints split if the bath or tray moves, often because it was sealed while the bath was empty.
If you can see any of these, send us a picture:
- Black mould in the sealant
- Silicone smeared on tiles
- Damp near the bath
- Gaps by the taps
Before booking anyone
- Whether there are any call-out or travel charges
- How long it needs to cure
- Whether they match the colour on site
- How to care for the finish
When a repair isn’t the answer
Not everything can be repaired, and we’d rather say so up front. Repairs won’t solve:
- Movement in the bath or tray
- Very wide gaps that need a trim
- Tiles that move, until they’re refixed
Not sure? Send photos and we will give you a straight answer.
What we work on
- Wet rooms
- Kitchen worktops & sinks

DIY repairs versus a professional job
If you are set on a kit, follow its instructions closely, ensure the area is clean and completely dry, and do not use it until it has fully cured. If it doesn’t work out, we can still repair it properly.
It’s natural to want to try a repair yourself. The trouble is that kit repairs frequently look fine at first and then fail, and then the old filler has to be removed first.
What we do, step by step
It’s a tidy, low-fuss visit. We confirm the time with you beforehand, protect the area, and get on with the job, which normally takes around two hours. If anything looks different from your pictures, we’ll talk to you before going ahead.
- First we strip out every bit of the old mastic.
- Next we clean the joint and deal with mould.
- We dry the joint thoroughly.
- We fill a bath with water before sealing so the gap is at its widest.
- We apply new mould-resistant silicone and tool it to a neat finish, including around the taps.
Getting ready for the visit
- Avoid using the area for a few hours before we arrive
- Clear the area around the damage
- Keep a parking space free if you can
